I have a 2001 dodge stratus, new distributor, spark plugs, has air compression fuel and spark and it cranks but wont turn, also just put a brand new crankshaft sensor in. Trying to figure out why it wont...

An engine needs 3 things to run...air, fuel, and compression....but they also need to happen at the correct time. If you have verified that the engine not only has enough fuel pressure to operate the injectors, but that the injectors are firing. That all of the spark plugs are getting fire, and that each of the cylinders have enough compression to run. I would think you have to check your timing marks.

My 98 ford explorer wont start its turning over and getting spark and fuel

OK IF YOUR YOUR SURE YOU HAVE SPARK AND FUEL THEN THE PROBLEM IS AIR OR COMPRESSION I WOULD THINK COMPRESSION DO A QUICK COMPRESSION TEST AND I THINK YOU WILL FIND THE PROBLEM IS A BROKEN TIMING CHAIN ONE OTHER POSSIBILITY IS A PLUGGED CATALYST BUT FOR BOTH BANKS TO BE PLUGGED TO THE POINT IT WILL NOT START IS VERY RARE GOOD LUCK (WHEN YOU SAY YOU HAVE FUEL DO YOU MEAN THE FUEL PRESSURE IS GOOD AND YOU HAVE INJECTOR PULSE OR JUST THAT YOU HAVE GOOD PRESSURE THE INJECTORS MUST PULSE AND HAVE AROUND 45 TO 60 PSI (RULE OF THUMB) FOR IT TO START ) USE A NOID LIGHT TO TEST INJECTOR PULSE OR IF NOT AVILABE SUBSTIUTE A 194 BULB AND BEND THE WIRE TABS FROM THE BULB DOWN AND PLUG THEM INTO THE INJECTOR HARNESS (NOT RECOMMENDED FOR ASIAN OR EUROPEAN CARS ) THIS LIGHT WILL BLINK WHEN CRANKING OR RUNNING IF YOU HAVE INJECTOR PULSE

My 2004 chevy malibu classic 4 cyl wont start its

There are four things required for an engine to run: air, fuel, compression and properly timed spark. If you have fuel and timed spark, the only two variables are air and compression. Air is not the likely problem, and compression should be good unless you blew a head gasket or the rings in all four cylinders. How did you determine that you have fuel and spark? Those are the two most likely problem areas.

Car wont start or fire even with starting fluid

To review - - if you have spark, fuel, and compression, you should have combustion.
In this case, if the timing belt is damaged, you might not have compression or spark at the right time.
A faulty crank or cam sensor could cause you not to have spark at the right time.
The spark plugs could be worn out or fuel fouled and not able to fire under compression.

Have a 1985 buick centruy with a 2.5 seems like its loading up with to much fuel wont start.I have spark timing is good, compression good, and changed the temp sensor. tried a different maf sensor(used)...

If you have spark, and the timing is good, you are either not getting enough fuel or there is not enough compression. If you checked the spark from the spark plug wires and got a spark, try changing the spark plugs. The spark from the plugs may be too weak to ignite the fuel.

Have you changed your fuel filter? This is a very common cause of a no start condition. Have your fuel pressure tested to ensure you are getting the correct amount of fuel. Also, you could try replacing your Fuel Pressure Regulator.

My 1986 Nissan 300zx wont start and run. It starts then sputters till it dies. If you play with the gas pedal it will run for longer but wont stay running. I replaced the fuel regulator, ignition coil,...

check for fuel compression, gas filter and try, a gas treatment, you buy it at auto zone the gas treatment is suppose to clean the jets . if you think is a valve issue then you should give it a compression test I would use the type gauge that screws to the piston hole and check each piston for compression.
good luck.

Running fine then wont'nt start

You will have to pull a spark plug out to check that you have spark when cranking the engine, while you have the plug/s out do a compression test to determine health of engine and wether it is in fact giving compression, eliminates other potential faults if compression is good.If you have compression(around 140 ish)and introduced fuel and it wont fire up it only leaves electrics as the fault.3 major engine requirements to run Fuel,Compression, ignition. When checking spark at night is best as you can easily see wether you have the correct type of spark,Blue and if its quite you will hear the spark as well.Your fault is consistant with ignition module, coil or lack of power to ignition.Faulty modules will give a spark but its too weak to ignite fuel and the spark will be yellow in color.Let me know how it goes.Good luck
