It's inside the computer.

Turn the AC on. If the fan still does not turn on then you may have a fan relay or computer issue.

Also if the engine does not get hot enough the fan will not turn on. You may have a defective temp sensor or thermostat

2004 sunfire cooling is always on when the car is running

The cooling fan is controlled by a temperature switch located on the radiator or on the engine. When the temperature of the coolant exceeds the switch temperature rating, the switch closes and energises a relay that switched a voltage to run the fan and it will continue to run until the coolant temperature drops back below the opening point of the switch. In your case, you may need to have the cooling fan replaced.

Engine is overheating. The cooling fan isnt running. I checked the fuses and relay, All is ok. Is there and where is the cooling fan thermo switch located? Thanks Ken

there is "coolant temperature sensor" its located on the drivers side of the engine on the back towards the firewall. Have you checked your cooling fans? I have replaced a lot of these for the electric motors going bad. Good luck hope this helps.
