More than likely its the sending unit in the tank. if the fuel sending unit is bad, then it will give a false reading. make sure voltage is getting thru wire to tank first. if power change float in tank.

My fuel gage is giving me a false reading on my peugot partner 1.8L van,how can I fix this problem?

The usual reasons for intermittent fuel readings are that a wire is loose from the sending unit in the tank or on top of the tank, the connection is not making good contact. If you are getting no reading and it was intermittent or "false" reading at different levels of gas in the tank, the sender unit in the tank is broken. It needs to be replaced.

Fuel gage aint working

all parts may be new but if the fuel gauge sender float has been bent when being installed into tank this will give false readings - if the float has been bent up during installation then it is likely that it will only read fro three quarters of a tank up as the float can not get any lower due to being bent, I recommend that a new pump/float is installed very carefully.

I need help resetting my 94 GMC seirra's gas gage

the gas gauge is on the fuel pump assembly with in the fuel tank, you must have bumped it during reassembly. the only solution is removal. pull it out check for alignment and binding, reassemble being very careful. hope this helps.
