Could be an injector but i just finnished replacing a 3.8L engine for this problem, burnt valves were the cause for the miss. try a compression test. wet and dry test it.

SOURCE: my 79 Chevy has rough idle/miss at idle but runs fine otherwise

It sounds like you have a vacuum leak or a carburetor problem. Check all hoses and the line going to the brake booster for cracks or leaks. Make sure the carb bolts are tight at the manifold. You can check for leaks using some carb cleaner. Spray around the base of carb while the engine is running, any leak will cause the engine to sputter when the spray hits it. You may want to look into rebuilding the carb or replace it. If its the original its a Quadrajet, they are not the easiest to rebuild but not impossible. If you rebuild it yourself, make sure to get the numbers off the carb so you can get the correct rebuild kit and accelerator pump. Plus you should replace the float when you rebuild since its 30 years old. A thorough cleaning of the carb is crucial before rebuilding. The fuel mixture screws have caps on them so they wont be altered after assembly from the factory. You'll have to remove those caps to remove these screws before cleaning. You can probably find some good info. on doing this at a good parts store. I hope this helps you.

On the module plate the coil packs sit on the pasenger side th small plug is missing a pin in the inside of the plug and big plug is missing to car not running right

You didn't say what car and what age or provide any details of it not running right. There was a time when it wasn't unusual to see a spare socket near a coil or something that seemed to be "missing".

Often this was a means to adjust the engine settings by moving a plug from one place to another or by fitting an adaptor if it was desired or necessary to use fuel of a different octane rating to that specified by the manufacturer.

It could of course be something entirely different. I suggest a chat with the local dealer is in order. Could be the not running right is a coincidence..

Kept having cam shaft censor code, replaced it 5 times nothing changed, changed plugs and wires to discover #2 plug was all corroded, should we replace the power pack

I would replace all plugs first and see how it runs. If it has a miss, then I would start switching coil packs from another plug onto the #2 plug and see if the miss follows the coil pack. If so, then replace it. It the coil looks burnt at all, replace it immediately.

04' Ram 1500, bad mis-fire. cust repl s/plugs. no help. Codes for coils #7 & 8 w/mis-fire. replaced coils & wire set. Better, but still P0300. Compression good

You still have random misfires (PO300)
You most likely replaced those coils that set a code, and those were not the one bad offender, spiking the computer module.
Take a new coil and put in a cylinder,no change, replace old coil and move new one to next cylinder. You can do that once or twice a day, if you have nothing else to do. You need a 90 degree day, to really get that solved, unless you have an ignition oscilloscope.
Never had a bad spark plug in 45 years.

Its not hitting right in the motor , its running on 5 cylinders when its a 6

Missing on a cylinder is always an ignition system problem. Replace plugs, plug wires, coil/distributor unit. Make sure your plug wires are routed right. Make sure timing is right. This should fix your problem.

yes it is the ignition coils . po304 is a miss fire on #4 cylinder.wires and plugs should fix the problem unless ignition coil is not firing. there are 2 coils they run 1&4 2 &3 cylinders.
