2003 Mitsubishi Diamante Water Leak

I get a water leak on the passenger side whenever it rains hard. This happens when the car is parked. The floorboards in the front and rear passenger side get saturated. I've checked the sunroof and have reconditioned the seals around the windows and still have the problem.

Two common problems

1.) leaking water through the cabin filter
2.) clogged drains for the sunroof

sounds like you took care of #2 so look at #1
Mitsubishi does not have a recall on this, like most manufactures did, but they may have a secret recall that is only available at the dealer. Stop there with your VIN# and ask if there are any OPEN campaigns

Do you know where the cabin filter is and how to access it?

    Your help is much appreciated.

most common for this vehicle is behind the glove box...

remove the two screws and you have access
if the filter is wet then you know you are on the right track
otherwise lets look at the mating surface of the HVAC unit and the bulkhead

you may need to stick someone in the car, under the dash while you hose the car down to find your leak f it isn't these mentioned so far

at the dealer we have a cool little tool called a SONIC LEAK DETECTOR that allows us to find leaks

every time I use this tool I find my leak
So much better than a two person job
especially if you are the one upside down in the car on hot summer day!!!

Water dripping onto passenger side floor from the inside passenger assist handle.

Does your car have a sun (or moon) roof? A leak in a sunroof will sometimes follow the roof over to the door post and down to the floor were the water will accumulate. This can be hard to find sometimes but having one person spraying water on the roof while a second one checks the inside of the vehicle you may be able to pinpoint the leak.
Hope this helps.

2004 nissan sentra rain leak passenger side

Someone in the car watching for leak, someone outside the car with a hose.. Gently apply water to the door area and person inside looks for the leak... Another possibilty. If the water is comning from under the car it can be a rusted place or a body separaion.. harder to find. It can be comning in from around the windheild seal and running down the interior firewall. This is how a shop would find the leak.. but they would charge you for it..

My 2000 honda civic has a leak in either the tail light or trunk leaking into the passenger compartment on the drivers side

I am assuming the water comes in when it rains.
Could be the trunk gasket or the tail light.
You may need a body shop to find the leak.

Water Leak in Passenger Side Floor Vent Area after car wash

Unless this happens in the rain as well, I would not worry about it. Likely in the car wash, far more water is coming in than the normal drain system can handle, therefore causing it to overflow. If you do have a drain obstruction, find the drain hose (small right angle hose on firewall passenger side) and roll it in your fingers to clear it.

Water on passenger side floor whenever it rains. It seems to be coming for under the dash. and only happens when it rains.

You would have a leak. I would take it to a GM dealer. Could be coming from the windshield and leaking by the firewall.

Rain water leak

Did you have the windshield replaced recently? This is typically caused by faulty installation of a windshield. Sometimes it can be fixed by adding windshield sealant (polyurethene, not silicone) where the windshield is adhered to the subframe - most likely along the bottom edge.

Water leak on fwd and back passenger side after every rain storm

pull your carpet up near the leak area and look for muddy body seams. it is possible one of the factory body seams are leaking- possibly in the cowl(under wipers) area, especially if it leaks when the car is sitting. there will be dirt/mud around the seams that are leaking. also you can check door seals by running the car on HIGH DEFROST with all doors and windows closed. spray around with a 50/50 soapy water solution. obviously bubbles will form around your leak.

Rain water leak

Yes Ive had this happen to my Toyota corrola and my dodge there are 2 different reasons why this is happening 1 of them it depends on if you have a sun/moon roof if so theres a vent in there so if any water or anything goes in it reroutes it too the outside of the car if its cloggeed water will spill into the car like that and just leave puddles the second thing is if you have it parked outside with trees all around theres vents up on the hood where the windsheild meets the hood they clog up so if you look along the back firewall which is under the hood all the way in the back theres a hole that gets clogged you need to clean that out and the easiest way to do that is get someone with a air compressor and blow air in that holke to push it all out it should fix all your water problems and if you have any questions let me know ill be glad to help, also please rate me.

Thanks,
Steve
