Trying to change the rear left door look acuator.

I am trying to change the left rear door lock acuator. I have taken the door hinge off but I can not get the acuator hook unhooked. I have taken the acuator off the two metal holders attaching the acuator to the door. I just can't get it unhooked. Any help????

Electric latch on the rear Hatch door will not unlock

I guess ford was trying to make a couple more bucks by not putting key locks on all doors. Anyway, if you crawl inside and pop the small cover(about 2"x2") off the inside of the hatch where the latch is located you can reach in with a screwdriver and manually move control arms. The lever on the back/far side of assembly is in the locked position, you need to move to the opposite side left or right of it's current position, this will unlock the latch and should allow you to open the door. You mave have to pop acutor arm loose to move it. My problem ended up being the outside cover {license plate frame)seal had been damaged by a ford mechanic, that or it was defective. Water got in and damaged the the lock acuator. Had to replace entire assembly as ford does'nt offer just the acuator. Sealed the outside cover with clear silione.

Rear door lock is making a horrible noise when it locks

most likely either a bent door locking rod or a bad acuator, you'll need to have that door panel removed to find out door shutting all the way?nothing obstructing the door from properly closing? is the door locking slide switch in panel blocked in someway?try locking it manually to see how it feels, does it have free travel back and forth? if not then that panel will have to be removed to find the problem. hope this helps!!

A non working rear door acuator.

It is a fairly simple job, pull the panel off, a couple screws on the bottom under tabs, then a couple more behind the door pull or armrest, and the plastic tabs that hold the panel on in the middle, pop it off and lift it up past the lock, The lock can be disconnected at the wire and it be disabled. It is a little tricky to twist it out but it will come out. A couple bolts hold it in. Hope this helps. ,,,, Forgot to tell you, take off your watch and pull the plastic down only what you need, and don't get near the black stuff. It is sticky!

1999 GMC suburban locks seize in locked postion

I just bought a 1999 Suburban and all of the door lock actuators were bad including the rear (barn style door) while I was replacing the rear door acuator I noticed that even with the factory mounting bracket on the actuator it was causing the door lock rod (the rod from the keyed cylinder lock to the actuator) was on a bind......the solution I came up with is adding an additional 3/4" spacer between the factory mount bracket and the door attach point. this solved any binding and the door lock works great now........also I used a lubricant on all the doors where the rods run through the plastic guides, which seemed to help quite a bit! Hope this help's.

D_front door locking mechanism

well all of the doors are on the same fuse so it is not that hit the key remote and see if you can here the acuator motor working inside the door, if so then you probly have a rod that came loose inside the door, if there is no acuator sound then you should look at the wire loom in the hinge of the door look for broken or cracked wires... if you need more help just comment on here id be glad to trouble shot this with you.
good luck

The motor is shot. It works a little and overheats, replace the motor . Same thing the the lock acuators. The are trying but have lost the power to move the locks. May as well replace them while the door is apart.

2000 Ford Focus electric locks/acuator failure recurring problem

I would follow their recommendation as I had the same problem with my car. They unhooked the power to that door and it was fine. The problem was a short in the wiring in the door that was causing the problem. So maybe get them to check the wiring in the door as well.

Power door locks do not work at all lights flash when remote is used to unlock doors. automatic lock feature does not work Once manually unlocked, sliding side doors work ok. tail gate can be used to opens...

the reason the locks dont work more then likely there is a code stored in the bcm for a lock output circuit normally caused by one if not both of the sliding door acuators. even if you change the acuators the locks still will not work until the code is cleared.
