Question about 1998 Oldsmobile Intrigue
You stated the air conditioner was not working. Do you mean the it doesn't work at all (no fan, vent, or temp control) or do you mean you hear the fan but the air doesn't blow out of the correct vent? Vacuum related issue would cause this. Finding a cracked line can be difficult but here are some tips. While the engine is running listen for a hissing sound under the hood (and even inside the cabin). Most times you can locate it by doing this and isolating the sound to one specific area . All your vacuum lines attach to the intake manifold for the vacuum source. Usually rubber hoses, but may be hard plastic too. Second thing to try is to use WD-40 with the red straw. It is flammable so you don;t want to spray it all over a red hot exhaust manifold. Identify where the hoses attach to the manifold and give a little shot of the WD-40 at these conncetions while the engine is running. You will hear the engine speed up slightly when you are spraying at the crack or broken line. Only large vacuum line goes to the master cylinder booster and it that was broken or disconnected the engine would be running like s**t. Good luck,
