I have a 2003 Impala Base 3400 V6...And my AC is making a sound. I was told its the clucth when you turn on the ac. Is that fixable at home or take it back in to the shop.

wuold suggest you replace complete assy clutch and comp this will be more expensive but will be better in the long run if a clutch goes bad usually form to much strain from compressure pressures if you do this at home you will still need to see a shop for vacume on the system before recharge

Why did the security light come on in my 2003 chevrolet impala. the security light came on in my 2003 chevrolet impala. why did that happen

That indicates there is a pass-code error. There are a few reasons why. Easiest way to explain it, is that your key has a "chip" in it, with a resistance or "password" that your cars computer is looking for. It means that your cars computer did not see the right password. It will probably reset itself once it sees the correct password a few times. If not, you want to get it checked, because if it happens too often, the vehicle will not start.

The causes for this problem on these vehicles are generally the ignition switch or passlock sensor. There is also sometimes a water leak that occurs at the right front cowl, check the inside passenger side floor area, if it is wet. It could then be a BCM problem. Goodluck

Hi i have a 03 impala it started missing I took it and had the code read. The check engine lite was flashing not just on . It showed #5 cyclinder miss fireing so I changs the plugs and wires. The auto parts...

With out a diagram to show you this will be difficult to explain so bear with my explaination. Starting from the passenger side of the car reading to the drivers it is 6,3 2,5 4,1. Now for where the wires go. The spark plugs you can see( front) are 2, 4, 6 reading the same same way passenger to drivers side. The other side 1, 3, 5 reading from passenger side to drivers side. I hope this helps. You probably need a fuel injector to correct the original problem.

It is vacuumed controlled. The vacuum hoses from the control go to a vacuum controlled actuator that is inside the venting.
