Can't close hood on 2007 Subaru forester

Try pulling the latch lever again. Sometimes, when the hood alignment isn't quite right, the latch will lock before the hood end gets in the right place. Otherwise your hood latch is misaligned or your cable is rusted and has the latch stuck open.

Hood latch seized

Is the latch seized open or closed? If it is open it could be as simple as looking straight down into the mechanism and using a long blade screw driver or thin pry bar and simply applying slight pressure to the latch. If it is closed could be a cable, have you tried having some one put some pressure on the hood while pulling the release from inside the car? If the cable is stretched out then you may have to remove the drivers side kick panel under the dash to try to get at the cable itself.
Hope this helps

My 2004 hood latch cable came loose and the hood is of course down and secure. I need to open, lt me know?

first, try smacking the hood at one of the front corners while someone else pulls the release handle. or even after you've pulled on it. if that works, once open, adjust and lubricate the hood latch assembly. if it still won't open, and it's the cable and not the latch you'll have to replace it anyway, so instead of removing the grill, cut the cable behind the pull lever under the dash where you can reach it. then skin the outer cable insulation away from the actual steel cable exposing an inch or two of it. then holding the insulation and plastic housing with pliers, grab the steel cable itself with pliers and pull it to open the hood. then replace the cable. the further you can reach up under the panel the better your chances of getting past the broken part of the cable and avoid removing the grill. you might also be able to gain access from up under the car if you're lucky.

Hatch won't open on 2004 Malibu Maxx

Try pushing the trunk release and turning the key in the lock at the same time.
It sounds like the electric lock has not released for what ever reason.
You should hear the trunk release relay when you push the remote.

Radio in 05 Malibu Maxx LS

The reason the radio is staying on is the retained accessory power not shutting down when the driver's door is opened. You can verify this by opening the door with the key on, if the door ajar light on the instrument panel does not light up the switch in the door latch is defective. You will need to replace the door latch.
