Question about 2003 Volkswagen Jetta TDI

My car is cranking but the other day I tried to crank it and it turned over but would not start. I noticed that it might be the battery, I took it to auto zone and they charged it to 100 percent I put it back in and the car started fine, a couple hours later the battery light indicator came on,,what might the problem be, is it time for a new battery

The battery light coming on usually indicates that the alternator is not charging.to check charge rate, check voltage on small terminal at rear of alternator with engine running, should be 13.5 -14v. check at battery if unable to reach rear of alternator.

Engine cranks for about 1 minute to start...once started it will start 1st time all day until a very long period has elapsed usually the next day.

It takes 20 minutes of driving to put back into your battery what charge it took to start the engine in the first place.
If you start the engine 3 times in a day then you would need an hour of driving to recharge the battery. Check your voltage on the battery the next day with a voltmeter, You need at least 12.6v.
Check for a battery trickle leak. You will have to remove each fuse in turn until you find the cause.
Cranking for a whole minute is unhealthy for the battery and there is obviously an underlying fault in the starting system. I would also check the fuel pressure at the port and get a cylinder pressure test

New Battery/starter and still wont crank.

car wont crank or car wont start? I would say your battery cables are bad,, acid gets in from battery and erodes internal cable parts... need a Meter to check it out.. put the meter on battery while someone tries to start it, if the voltage drops from 13.5 to 10 then it is trying to turn over, I always have the new starters tester before I leave a store, they are remanufactured in Malaysa and they use old parts in most of them..

Bike not starting

Do a plug elimination test, take the lead off one plug at a time and turn over the engine. If one particular plug being disconnected makes no difference then that plug is probably not firing. In this case try replacing the plugs.

MY 325I would not start - when the key was turned, it would just make a clicking noize. I tried t jump start but that din't help. I did crank and continue to crank for a few day but slow. today it...

This definetly sounds like a battery issue......the clicking is the starter motor receiving current but not enought to turn, and when it did crank, there was not enough voltage to provide power for the injection sytem........I would first be either charging or replacing the battery.......and seeing if it starts.......Then if it starts, I would be checking the charging system and all power devices, to make sure the new/recharged battery does not go flat........Good luck

Truck having trouble starting.

With the engine running remove the positive battery cable, if the engine continues to run the alternator is good and the battery is probably bad. If the engine dies then the opposite is true.
