There was a class action suit against GM over this.
(It's timed-out or I would have collected.) Remember
when cars, most especially engines, were METAL.

The most common cause is the water pump leaks, it is on the top front of the engine, passengers side.

Not getting any heat, flushed out anti freeze and changed thermostat, still no heat

Look on firewall in the middle behind the engine but on top and you will see the heater hoses. You should see a vacuum type valve. These types seem to go out after a few seasons. Try to move it manually. If you can't then it needs to be replaced.

My `95 Buick Century V-6 overheating. I found the problem to be a leaking freeze plug on the front head, behind the water pump. How can I get at this plug to replace it?

There are many radiator leak stop products that will seal the leak without having to replace the freeze plug. It is the poor mans repair.

I got a 1996 buick century with a 3:1 and its leaking anti freeze some were on the driver side of the motor and i dont no what it is to i can fix it. It didnt leak till it got warm out so i was thinking it...

If the antifreeze is leaking out behind the exhaust manifold then i would say you have a freeze plug leaking . The plug is located on the sides of the engine block. They can be a real job to get out and replace. If you see the leak in the location i described then i would take it to a repair shop for repairs. Have them to inspect all the freeze plugs for damage. Hope this will help you.

96 buick century leaking anti freeze from timeing cover

You will need to remove the timing cover and replace the gasket set. it is the timing cover gasket that is leaking and yes it is fairly common, once fixed it should not reoccur. It is not a horribly expensive repair, but mine on a 96 regal cost about $200 to have replaced. The decision is up to you as to whether it is worth it, based on your vehicles miles, and condition.

My 1996 buick century is leaking water from the engine...on the right side of the engine...i fill up the radiator with water and two days later its starts overheating...i changed the water pump so i know...

Could be a hose..
When you pull into your drive way - when it is hot - shut it off - this is the best time to look for the leaks because after you shut it of the presure builds a bit.. Check the hoses..
Could be the water pump...
ould be a freeze plug gone bad..

Good luck !

How to change anti-freeze(coolant) on 2003 buick century

Hello, perform the following steps in this order:
NOTE: car should be cool, in park and on non sloped surface.
NEVER leave used coolant in an area where children or pets can gain access, Anti freeze has ethylene glycol which can be lethal to humans and pets. Used coolant should be immediately taken in a sealed container to a local state certified recycler for proper disposal.
1.Raise front end of car, and place one jack stand under frame of car on the inside of each front wheel.
2.Place a 2 gallon (low profile) bucket under the radiator drain plug. The drain plug will be located at the bottom of the radiator.
3.Unscrew the drain plug and let coolant drain into bucket. (It may be necessary to adjust bucket so no coolant leaks onto the ground.
4.After all coolant has drained from the radiator, tighten radiator drain plug finger tight, then 1/8-1/4 of a turn with a wrench.
5.Unscrew radiator cap and begin filling radiator using 50/50
premixed antifreeze solution.
6.Continue adding premixed solution until fluid is just below the top lip of radiator where cap fastens to.
7.Re attach radiator cap and lock into place.
8.Check radiator overflow reservoir and ensure coolant is between add and full, add coolant as required.
