Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

My speedometer in my 2008 Suzuki forenza is not working, what is wrong?

2008, just the speedo, not odometer too, or other things dead
no dead lamps or parking lamps dead? in the I/P cluster?
2006 or 8? the title contradicts/, guess at 08
the 08, has 2 computers, one ECU/PCM
and the cluster brain. (sorry its NASA level now)
the ECU sends CAN instructions the HEAD puter, and the HEAD
moves the analog meter up scale.
there is no more cables. etc.
here is a snap shot of the real deal
suzuki folded up shop USA/CANada, getting it fixed is problematic.

Replaced brain box,but still wont start

the number on the pcm has to match and you will need to swap the eprom out from the old one to the new one. open the unit and you will see a rectangular eprom simply lift it out and make sure it gose back in the same direction usually a small white dot in one corner to indicate pin 1

I have a 1996 Chevy Tahoe. Just put in a new computer system on it. Now the shifting is messed up. What could be causing this? Shifted fine with the old brain before I changed it.

The new computer may have been downloaded with different shift points from the factory. Make the computer is set for the same transmission.

I have a 1997 dodge avenger that is shotting codes P0700 and P1782 I have changed the filter and transmission fluid I had the trans computer changed today and it is still changing in to lymph mode after...

  • Incorrect transmission fluid (cost: $50-60) - Most COMMON PROBLEM! (even in 2010)
  • Computer needs retraining (try this as soon as you’ve changed the fluid)
  • Solenoid pack (cost: about $60-$160 plus labor. Might be clogged and fixable.)2ND MOST COMMON PROBLEM
  • Ground strap broken/missing - may be misdiagnosed as needing a new transmission and/or computer.
  • Clogged hydraulic “brain” ($0 to $150)
  • Bad input sensor (common) - “Can be seen on scan tool screen as input rpm —if it’s 0, replace the sensor.”
  • Computer firmware needs upgrade (Chrysler dealer should do this for free but might run up to $200)
  • Incorrect filter used in last fluid change
  • Loose electrical connection
  • Torque converter

2000 Chevy Blazer Computer/Brain Location

It is mounted on the RH inner fender under the hood. It's a black metal box with fins on it and a few large wiring harnesses going into it. You MUST have the battery disconnected when you hook the new one. Good luck

1988 Ford Bronco II 2.9 V6 5 sp. trans. Air power steering

Interesting problem... I myself own an 88 Ford Bronco II 4wd 2.9L V6. I have issues with my idle reving up to 1500 to 2000 rpms at stop. I have not yet resolved the issue, however, I do believe that sometimes electronic components are to blame...such as the brain or "Mother Board" of the vehicle. I replaced the "Brain" on two previously owned vehicles with instant results. I would suggest the local junkyard for a try...only as a last result. The "Brain" is located on the passenger side along the Interior wheel well. If you look along the front passenger side wheel well inside, beneath the plastic, vinyl, etc....you will find a metal enclosure that is comparable to a computers cd drive or hard drive........Approx. 4" x 6" give or take. The Board will have a wide slot plastic attachment plugged into it...very similar to an IDE slot on a computer.
This is the Brain......for your Bronco II.
Buying a used Brrain is a Gamble ...
You could get a bad brain!!!

BUT...You could get an instant repair!!
Who's to decide?
I had an 1986 BMW 325I
Suddenly One Day....
It started Reving up and down erratically....I was at a loss.

Luckily, I had a friend who was a BMW mechanic, and informed me that there was a relay in my glovebox that controlled my idle. I took a chance and tried replacing the relay with one I purchased at the junkyard...although they wanted $50 for it...I was willing.....and the new /USED idle conrol relay turned out to be an affordable fix. Thankfully
