There is a good chance the instrument cluster failed. Only way to know for sure is to get it looked at. Even if someone from this site recommended a fix would you really feel confident spending hundreds on someones guess. ??

Start it up at night in the dark and look for arcing of ignition components internally- they lihgt up slightily in the potting material and along the plug wires, especially any sharp bends.

How new are the fuel injectors? One or two might be worn in a manner the poppet sticks, which would cause a misfire- although it would tend to be cylinder specific in fault code at that point in most cases.

Awd light stays on low fuel lght even w/full tank of gas..

we have dumped over $5000 into mine in the past 1.5 yrs and the "service engine soon" light has never gone off for more than 3 days. fuel gauge reads either full or empty w/no rhyme or reason. this causes the "low fuel" light to randomly come on. i hear strange noises that SOUND like some sort of brake issue, but 2 mechanics have checked them and said they were fine. this causes the "awd disable" and "anti-lock" lights to randomly come on. one day i was driving down the road and glanced at the dash to be mesmerized by what looked like disco lights because the dash was flashing: *SECURITY * *LOW FUEL* *AWD DISABLE* *SECURITY*
My entire family has been driving GM vehicles exclusively (mostly Buicks and Chevys) for over 60yrs. I was raised by war veterans and union members and I believe very strongly in buying American. I am a union member myself, and am disgusted daily by all the foreign cars on the roads. But I am so disturbed by the number of problems I've had with this ONE vehicle in less than 2 years (and the fact that so many of us have had so many problems that remain to be solved or even acknowledged), I am seriously considering never buying GM again. I will have to swallow my gm pride and buy a jeep or a dodge and pray that they haven't ALL failed us.

The gas gauge reads empty and gas light is on even when gas tank is full

this problem is caused by a defective gas tank sending unit for the gage and the low fuel light, replace the sending unit.

The low fuel light stays on even when tank is

Hi: Your Fuel Level Sending Unit That Is Located in Your Fuel Tank Is Probally Bad. BUT before you go to taking the Sending Unit out Of your Tank Check to see if ALL Connections To And From Tank to Gauge are Conected Good. Also You could have a Fuse that Goes to the Sending Unit,in Your Fuse Block.Check And See if You Have A Fuse Labeled Fuel Sending Unit or Fuel Sensor. If you end up Replacing The Fuel Tank Sending Unit Run Your Gas Tank Down To Almost Out Of Gas Before You Start to Remove The Metal Straps Holding Your Tank Up. Cause The Sending Unit Is on Top of Your Tank ,And Your Fuel Pump Is In The Gas Tank As Well. Hope This Has Helped You Please Send Me a Vote on How my Solutions Have Helped You And Also You Can Send Me A Testamony Thank You From the WYOCWBOY

Engine codes po452, po440,po122. electrical problem?

You should have 3 grounds 1 from the battery to the engine one from the engine to the body and then from the engine to the frame. Look for these grounds they look like braided flat wire. I think you also may have a loose plug or a cut in the main harness from the rear of the vehicle. Look along the frame as the harness runs from back to front. Looking at your codes I do not think they are related to your electrical problem. I gave up trying to fix my gear indicator, I had to replace the fuel tank sensor to get my gas gage working right.

The fuel gauge is'nt working.I tryed to ground it

When testing a fuel guage you should disconnect the wires to it,guage should read over full, ground the float wire, turn off key then turn back on should read empty. You have to cycle the key for guage to move.If still inop the wire is broken in the harness between the tank and the dash.Voltage on the float wire is low. When tested with a test light it will barely light the light and pulsate. This test indicates the wiring is good.

GMC envoy after I filled gas tank the low fuel light came on and as I was driving it would go off than come back on after a few miles the check engine light come on stayed on and the low fuel light still...

You will need to replace the fuel level sensor which is in the fuel tank. They have a lot of problems because the metal fingers on the sensor wear off and gives you the incorrect readings. This will also cause the check engine light to come on.You will probably have a level sensor code. This will be a lot easier if the fuel level is down to about a quarter tank or less. Also you should be able to get just the level sensor and not have to get the complete fuel pump module.Good luck.

sounds like you have a bad fuel gauge sending unit common problem it is located inside the the fuel tank with the fuel pump Auto Zone should be able to pull codes to verify this it should say you have a bad fuel level sensor code

Table salt in gas tank

the easiest way to do this would be to remove the fuel filter and turn the key on the fuel pump will pump it all out for you. you may have to cycle the key a few times as it will only run for a little while at a time usually about 30 seconds per cycle
