My engine light comes on when driving for a few minutes and goes of when i turn the car of then come back on a hr later

you have a sensor or component going bad and every time you disconnect battery your resetting it but when computer cycles thru the bad part will set off the trouble light ---have the vehicle scanned for the code most auto places offer this service for free with the code you can fix the problem

It's an intermittent problem, but the computer will have stored the code. Take it to your local auto parts place, most will read the code for you free.

When you have a check engine light, there are codes stored. That's where you start--with the codes

air lock in the cooling system get a plastic bottle cut the bottom off turn upside down put on radiator filler and run engine cut full off water wait until all air bubbles stop then remove and put cap on see how that goes

check for codes could be tps sensor

try changing your pcv valve. if its dirty it may be causing the shuttering. as for the check engine light going on and off, you may have a bad gas cap. if the cap is faulty it will cause the engine light to come on at times because of a poor air to fuel ratio.

Try A DPFE sensor ( Differential FeedBAck ) sensor that controls the EGR .. Lemmie know

Bad ecm (engine control module) or prom chip issue. Prom is located inside ecm QDM is quad driver module which is electronic portion of ecm. Would replace ecm first remebering that prom chip must be swapped from old box to new.
