Chevy 454 back fire

Ignition timing is set by the computer as long as the distributor pickup point is within reason.

It could be running too lean. One of the TBI injectors may be sticking or not working (wiring or computer problem), or fuel pressure could be low.

Need timing marks for 93 chevy 454

Under the hood on the emissions decal should say what degre the timing should be set at. ther is a one wire plug that is brown with a black stripe u need to un plug befor seting the timing with a timing light . u can usually find that under the glove box or behind wher the fuel pump relay is . i think the timing is set at 4 degres on the timing pointer but look for the decal first too make sure im right.

Need timing marks

There are timming marks on the cam gear and crank gear, you can use a strate edge to chk. to see if you got them lined up right, there will be a mark on a tooth on one gear, and the other mark will be between two teeth. just line them up and you got it.
