Check fuses and relays related to it first. If none are bad its most likely corroded wires from harness. Also check in the plug ends for corrosion and debris. Check wire harness to object being towed also.
take a test light and check for power at the pins, also try cleaning the pins on the conector. if you plug it in and the running lights still work on your truck its probably a broken wire.
as to under dash will need to look up for a plug and play adapter [if their is one ] and as to the rear plug and play adapter usually tap off connections behind rear light lens or behind the trunk panel
the wiring harness is the econimical way to go about it; it serves the same function as if you had a tow package. But if you want the Dealer Tow package look, there are multible harnesses that you can just plug into the existing plug under your vehicle
They came with factory installed towing harnesses. No need to install aftermarket stuff. The harness is in the left(driver side} rear panel. All you need to do is plug it in.
Do you have a tow hitch? The harness for the tow hitch might be rubbed through & shorting on metal. Use a test light & see if there's a short in the socket. Touch ground to a vehicle ground & it shouldn't light. Let me know if that helps.
hello, if the vehicle came with factory towing, i has the relay already....sometimes they ship however without the fuse. the fuse should be behind knee panel on driver's side labed TOW or TRAILER good luck, marty
