Replacing 2008 toyota avalon alternator. starting from the serpentine pulley may i get a blow by blow on how to put my car back together? Ive been left high and dry and am ready to go crazy here

well not sure what your question really is. the alternator is simple to replace. couple bolts and tighten then plug the wires back in and put the belt back on or is that your problem. you don't know how to route the belt around all the pulleys to make it work. well most cars have a diagram or i draw one before removing. some books will show it or go online and search pulley route. then last thing is connect the battery and should be all set.

Harmonic balancer bolt is torqued to specs, but there is still play in the pulley.

23880111-k0la5llha3vhnr1ljv3tx424-5-1.jpgYour pulley has a woodruff key like the one in the photo. In order to have zero play, you need to replace the key and the harmonic balancer

Tempature gauge

Remove the serpentine belt, check to see if there is play in the water pump pulley. If there is no play in the pulley, then the water pump is fine. Remove the thermostat and lower radiator hose and flush both Radiator and the Engine with a hose for a few minutes, put everything back together, refill coolant. Test, let me know if it worked. Thanks

How do I put the serpentine belt back on a 1998 saturn sl2 after I have installed a new alternator

there is a little stick man illustration sticker under the hood showing how to release belt tension by moving the tensioner arm. if the serpentine belt is still on the lower pulley then put the belt on everything except the tensioner, then move the tensioner arm as needed, put the belt in there and release the tensioner arm. most likely going to need two people to do this.

if the belt has come off the lower pulley then you are going to have to remove the service panel behind the right front wheel and put the belt back on lower pulley, then do as above described. this would be a great time to put a new tensioner, a new serpentine belt, and a new "dog bone" motor mount on as it will all be right there to work on with that service panel out.

When i put my belt back on my 98 mercury grand marques it started making squealy noise when the car is on

I am assuming your talking about the serpentine belt, you need to check all the pulleys that the serpentine belt rides on, P/S, alt. ider pulley, A/C, tensioner. water pump, if everything seems good, put the belt back on and locate where the sound is coming from, use a wood dowel to hear exactly what is squeeling.
check the power steering fluid.

How toreplace a serpentine belt on an oldsmobile auruor

It's easy to replace a serpentine belt on an Oldsmobile Aurora.

Just release tension on the serpentine belt by using a 1/2" breaker bar on the tensioner pulley. Then, undo the belt.
Insert the new belt around the various 'smooth' and 'grooved' pulleys by matching the smooth pulleys with the back of the serpentine belt, and matching the grooved pulleys with the grooved inside of the serpentine belt in question, that you've bought from the store based on the year, make, model, and engine size.

It actually will come together more easily than worrying about a belt diagram, although a belt diagram can be helpful to understand how the belt weaves in and out of the various pulleys.

Often, there will be a sticker under the hood area where a belt diagram exists, but it's not necessary to have one to perform the service yourself.

I dont have a diagram to run serpentine belt to a toyota camry 03

Hi

Replacing Serpentine belt on a Toyota camry 2003—

Step 1--Examine the belt placement of your Toyota Camry fan belt so that you will remember how to put it back once you have removed it. Refer to the vehicle owner's manual for further information. Locate the pivot bolt on the front passenger side of the engine. Loosen the pivot bolt with a socket wrench.

Step 2--Loosen the adjustment locking bolt that is just below the tensioner pulley with a socket wrench, and then loosen the tensioner pulley to allow the belt to move free.

Step 3--Check the belt for any signs of cracking or irregular wear, so you can fix any problems that may exist with the pulleys. Remove the fan belt from the pulleys on the engine and take it out of the engine compartment.

Step 4--Wrap the new fan belt around each of the pulleys the same way it came out. When you have the belt in place, tighten the tensioner pulley with a socket wrench.

Step 5--Tighten the adjustment locking bolt and the pivot bolt with a socket wrench, and then look over the engine to check that everything is back in place.

Step 6--Turn the vehicle engine on and watch it for a few minutes to verify that everything is operating properly, then turn the engine off.

Car won't start??

Remove the serpentine belt and see if it cranks over. Something in that area screwed up to cause all that to happen. Breaking power steering pump pulleys is rare. I am assuming from your description that the starter won't crank the engine. If I am wrong please clarify.
