If you mean by d ECU is the Engine control Module then you must have it learned with the BCM (body control Module). This could be done using T4 or something equivalent

Where is diagnostic plug 1992 range rover

Hi there,

As far as I can recall, some earlier Land Rover vehicles relied on reading LED flashes (or LCD display) from the vehicle's ECU computer itself, so try the following:

Locate the engine ECU (possibly hidden under the one of the front seats - remove carpet or cover; or behind the left hand kick panel). Once you have located the ECU and it has LED's or a display, do the following procedure:

1) Run engine up to operating temperature
2) Place gears in PARK or Neutral and turn ignition OFF & wait 3 seconds.
3) Turn ignition to position "II" (do not start) - Fault code will display
Note: repeat steps 2 & 3 to obtain any additional codes

4) If no codes display, then disconnect the White 5-pin connector plug (located behind r/hand underside of dash)
5) Repeat steps 2 (wait 3 seconds) & 3 again to see if codes display.

Feel free to post your codes here and someone will be happy to advise you further.

Cheers,

My land rover d2 wont start i put a new ckp sensor and plugs and wires but it still wont start .. the next step is to buy the coils

The first step was to go to a repair shop
that has people knowledgable enough
to diagnose any issues you were having

You chose to throw parts at it.

That worked in the from 1950 thru 1980,
no more.

If you don't know the technology & how to
test it,leave the hood closed

You may need to put it on a computer to re-sync with the ECU, but first check your connections, disconnect the battery for a few mins and then try reconnecting.
