SOURCE: 2001 vw passat clutch fan replacement

Usually it takes a bench vise and a pipe wrench to turn the fan off the water pump. Also I think these are reverse threads too. Its tough to break it loose either way. You will need to keep the water pump from turning and gently with increasing force break it loose. sometimes some WD-40 helps too. It does take quite a bit of OMMPF to get it off. I am not sure on your model, but be aware it may be Lefty tighty righty loosey instead of the traditional lefty loosey and righty tighty as well. Also sometimes if you take it to the place where your getting your new parts they will he-man it off for you as well, but they may not want to take the liability. Good luck to you.

SIncerely,

JC

Cant locate clutch cylinder 1988 Honda accord lx 5 speed trasmssion

If it is a hydraulic clutch, and not cable operated, there will be two cylinders. A clutch master cylinder will be mounted on the firewall next to the brake master cylinder. One steel line will go from the master cylinder down to the slave cylinder bolted onto the transmission housing where the clutch lever extends out of the housing. Other than bleeding the slave cylinder, no adjustments are necessary on hydraulic clutches. Cable operated clutches have an adjusting mechanism to take up slack when the clutch disc wears. The adjuster will be inside the engine bay.

Vw pasat 1.9 tdi. Car has become difficult to get into gear but drives perfectly when in gear no great difficulty changing gear when car in motion. Does the 1999 Pasat operate on a clutch cable or...

The clutch is operated by hydraulic system. before you change gears, press the clutch pedal few times to increase the pressure in the hydraulic system. if it improves it then there is a leak in the hydraulic system. comen component to fail are Slave cylinder or masture cylinder. Good luck.....

My 1987 jeep wrangler wont shift into gear...i have replaced the clutch master cyclinder or it may be called the slave cylinder whichever is located near the transmission...what do i do next?

If you have replaced the slave unit, and bled the system, then I'd replace the master cylinder on the firewall and bleed it again.
It seems though that you are a bit week on the diagnostics end...A slave unit is bad only if it is leaking fluid or frozen from non use. A bad master, can either leak externally (usually visible where the rod goes into it on the passenger side of the firewall) or internally bypass causing the slave not to move. The line between them cannot be leaking either or nothing will work. If everything appears to be working but the clutch will not disengage it is possible that the clutch itself is bad.
