pull the handbrakes before you put to P (park) or you can use the P directly after car fully stops, avoid the slopes and use the handbrakes its better for the machine and gear also.
Many times your ignition switch locks due to key. Put key it and move the wheel. It may be difficult at first, but sometimes it locks and the key will not turn.
sometimes when people have to many things on a keychain it can cause wear in the tumblers in the ignition so always have just your car key and remote only on your keyring,but try to mess with the shifter at the same time turn the key ive seen this happen alot.
Try pushing the trunk release and turning the key in the lock at the same time.
It sounds like the electric lock has not released for what ever reason.
You should hear the trunk release relay when you push the remote.
If the engine starts and then quits when you release the key to the ON position it could be the anti-theft systemhas locked out. Turn your key to the ON position and wait ten minutes until the ANTI-THEFT light on the dash board goes out. The car will now start and run if that was the problem.
