Probably needs an "iwe" solenoid.
iths the vacuum solen oid that controls the 4x4 vacuum hubs,
they leak vacuum and cause partial engagement of the hubs.
thats probably the noise your hearing.
i think ford has a tsb 06-08-15

if it is squeaking only when turning, it may be a base brake issue.

i would inspoect the pads and calipers closely, possibly removing them, if there was nothing found switch pads side to side on front and retest.

did the iwe solenoid have problems for a while?

possibly thew vacuum actuator coulod have been damaged.....

I have a 2004 f150 fx4 and i just had the iwe solenoid changed, also when i turn right there is a squeeking sound but only when i turn right and ford said they could not find out the problem and 500 dollars later its still there, any ideas of what it might be?

Try spraying some silicone spray on the CV boots. In sharp turns the folds will rub against each other and if dry they squeak. Just turn the steering wheel, jack the tire off the ground under the suspension and spin the tire by hand to check for this. It worked for me.

Grinding noise around front wheel hub on Chevy cavalier

I would guess it is your wheel hub, but if it occurs while the car is on and not moving, it might be your a/c compressor. When they go out they make a terrible grinding noise.

I have a 2004 2500 HD My 4 wheel drive suddenly quit working I put in a new actuator My 4 wheel drive indicator light show I'm in 4 high or 4 low you can hear my transfer case shift but it still won't go...

May be the problem is not in the actuator in the case but in the actuator that engages the hub locks . Check for vacuum line / electrical wires faults . The noise may be from the hub lock or from a cv joint in that side.

1994 ford ranger 4x4 hubs make grinding/clicking noise after taken out of four wheel drive

I think yours has the automatic locking hubs that slide over the the rotor hub. If this is the case than what has probably happened is a u-joint has gone bad and wiped out that auto hub.

Be prepared for some sticker shock on those hubs. they are not cheap. The usual fix for this is to replace the front axle ujoints and what ever hub is making the noise, hopefully just one.

Hello i would check your wheel bearings or sometimes called bearing hub .Jack car up prop the car with axle stands now remove your tires and rotors once removed wiggle you bearing hub left to the right your bearing hub should have minimal play one side to the other is obvious the looser play hub will be your noise you have been experiencing.most people call this road noise.

A grinding from the hub sounds like a bad wheel bearing.

Auto locks for front 4x4 2007 f150 cant stop grinding noise

Are you under warranty? Make it the dealers problem if its eligible.

If the front hubs are grinding regardless of being in 2wheel or 4wheel drive it can be the hub bearings which turn regardless. If it grinds only when in 4x4 then the wheel shafts or differential or front driveshaft or transfer case is making the noise because all of these parts move when in 4wheel drive.

4/04 ford f150 4x4 front axle actuator won' t stay disengaged

Even though you checked the vacuum lines and found no leaks it does not mean there isn't a problem. The check valve in the line closest to the firewall actuator is probably your problem. Had the same issue replaced this line and solved it. The check valves in the vacuum lines are your best next guess.
