After the clutch disengages ( when it's not suppose to )check the voltage on the + output terminal on the clutch relay, (inside the fuse box under the hood) if you have voltage there, check the voltage at the clutch, if you have voltage there too, its the clutch. The clutch gets worn and will engage when cool, but fails after heat builds up. Check this by tapping the face of the clutch with the ac on, if it's simply a worn clutch it will likely engage for a while.

My a/c isnt working on my 2013 chevy cruz, fuses are good, clutch isnt engaging

Probably low freon pressure. There is a pressure switch that does not allow the clutch to engage if the pressure is too low. This prevents damage to the compressor. Check freon level.

2004 lincoln LS Air conditioner doesnt work

A mechanic would check the freon level, then for power at the relay, the low pressure switch, and the compressor clutch.

2000 F150 4.6L AC problem

The pressure switch is right next to the battery negative terminal. To bypass the switch, remove the connector and use a paperclip to jump the terminals inside the connector. By the way, you need to put oil in the system, or the seals will quickly dry out.

My ford 500 air conditioner blows cold air but it starts and stops constantly and sometime when it stops the check charging system light comes on can someone help me on this?

Hello, This sounds like you have several problems which are minor, but one problem reveals another. The Serpetine belt and the Tensioner are likely bad. You are getting a slipping belt from the A/C clutch cutting on and off.

You need to check the Freon level in your A/C so that the compressor clutch stays on longer. There is also a low-pressure switch on the A/C line close to the black oblong tank. The switch protects the compressor from burning out due to low pressure. If the low pressure switch gets weak, it will cut off the A/C clutch too early and frequently. This switch is easy to replace.

Once you check the Freon level, you may need to add Freon. There are cans of Freon which come with gauges and chemicals to help patch small leaks, or you can take it somewhere for service.

The Charging system warning can just be due to the Serpetine belt slipping.. If you go to Autozone, Oreilys, or Advance autoparts, they will check your car for FREE. It is possible the internal Voltage Regulator is cutting out inside the Alternator, but with the A/C problem, more likely the Alternator is okay. The testing will indicate what is needed.

I hope my solution is very helpful.

The air conditioner clutch does not work . The ac clutch relay is not working. The ac switch on/off switch light works ok.Would like to know where the powertrain control module is located. Any help will be...

Before you go looking for a electrical problem, Have you checked the freon level? If it is low, the low pressure switch will shut down the clutch.

Air conditioning

If there is no r-12 or freon in the system it wont come on. Try jumping the pressure switch. It's a 2 wire plug somewhere one the AC lines. Just pull it off and jump the wire end with another wire.If the clutch engages you need freon or R-12.

Please describle the location of the a/c compressor clutch fuse in a Chevy Tracker 2000.

there is a power distribution box under the hood which under the lid of this box it will tell you which relay is for what .. Also your air conditioner wont come on if its low on freon.. even a little low it has a pressure switch which keeps the clutch from working to protect your system when low on freon.. holler if you need more ..
