Why does my 2.5 GMC sonoma truck skips or misses?

Worn timing belt or bad map sensor, weak ignition coil, worn distributor gear (usually starts hard with that) Leaking manifold gaskets all possible causes. Start with a new coil, spray starting fluid around manifold gasket while running, if it revs up in any certain spots, manifold leaking (intake only test), check vacuum lines for cracks and leaks,(MAP) replace sensor. Over 75,000 miles probably timing belt, recommended change interval is 60,000 miles.

Drivability problems after driving 20 - 30 miles

Try changing or switching out the distributor. Most likely getting hot and shuts down. Does it crank but no start whenever it stops? May only start when it cools down again.

Hey Anon, NO, its not the distributor,, more than likely is the/a coil..(unless the coil is built into the distributor)...

I have 89 accord 6 cyln 3.0 vtec it just stops running wait a few min.then it will usually start its stops running about every 5 miles

this is going to be a bad ignition coil or bad distributor, i would replace the coil first but if the coil is built inside the distributor then replace the whiole unit but if its outside the dist then try replacing the coil first, then if it does the same thing then replace the distributor. this problem is very common with hondas, the internal modules heat up and die and then when they cool down it runs again ,hope this helps good day,

1994 camry will stall while driving normal speeds. Check engine light and airbag light comes on. Vehicle will start immediately but lacks power and misfires. After cool off vehicle will perform properly...

4cyl or V6?? Have your ignition coil checked and you vehicle scanned for the check engine light. If this is a 4cyl the coil is inside the distributor cap (possible oil leaking into the cap, very common on 4cyl camrys). If its a V6, have the Crank and cam sensors inspected. Hopefully this helps!!
