could be a selector failure. easiest to check first or internall drama with torqu converter ,one way clutch or other. these will require r@r n overhaul

It may not be a fuse there should be a switch and connector in behind your brake pedal that will release the gear shifter.
Check and ***** the wiring linking to the switch it may have been disconnected

Hi, you have a malfunctioning brake/park interlock. When you go to shift out of park, as you know, you have to hit the brake or the shifter won't jump out of Park into Reverse. The interlock device that in this system is probably failing.

Put the key in, turn it forward 2 clicks like normal. Make sure you push the brakes all the way down and then try to shift the gear to park. Ya, cars wont start in gear, they made that way. If it still wont go in gear, try turning the steering wheel left & right. Sometimes the wheel lock can mess with ya. If not still, you need to call a mechanic. Cuz actually, if you were in reverse instead of park, the key should have never came out. Also make sure the key is in ALL the way.

If you have no electrical power to the car the solenoid will not release the gear shift. You can release it manually, on the under side of the steer colum should be a small button to push, or if it is shift on the floor, there should be a "release" tag.
Make sure you battery is fully charged, and check MAIN fuses in the engine bay.

Sounds like a short in the wiring somewhere. what does the fuse go to?
