Why do think the key security is bad? If you still have a factory key, this is not the problem...if no factory key, you can take your VIN number or original key to GM dealer to get new key that they will program for you...Check for dirty battery connections:)

I was told u cant bypass security light - it may be a broken wire or a wire came off starter or it could be the key switch - mine would do that - leave key in the ignition (may have to leave ignition on) for any where from 11 - 30 minutes and see if it starts then - if it does I had to have the ignition replaced and there is a recall on those for that - it costed me $605 to get it fixed - waiting to here back from Chevy about getting reimbursed for it!

If the security light has come on, that is indicating a problem in the antitheft system. Tho it may be intermittent right now, it can only get worse. Read thru this link, it will help you understand the problem, offer some tips and tricks, and show you some ways to bypass and fix it.

GET IT CODE SCAN SEE WHAT CAUSING SECURITY LIGHT TO TURN ON. PROBLEM IN THE BCM MODULE OR THE IMMOBILIZER CONTROL MODULE CANT READ KEY CODE.

remove and clean the battery terminals ,

are you using a copied key? this is a common problem with aftermarket keys. your dealer can make you one from the vin if you do not have an original.

Leave the key in the on position for 20 to 30 minutes without trying to start the vehicle. In most cases a lose of power to the computer has happened and the security must be reset.
