I have p1 auto codes p1506,p1443,p1744 - 1997 Ford Ranger SuperCab

You have to code set for the TCC so now you have direction for a fix.Use a good scan tool to check on the TCC condition and related control of it.

The most likely cause of these two codes tripping together is a vacuum leak associated with the canister purge system. This system collects the vented gasoline vapor from the fuel tank and when the engine is running purges the canister into the manifold.

The P0171 is an indication that the engine is running lean and the P1443 is a fault associated with the Purge Control Valve Solenoid trouble code control valve.

Inspect under the hood for a disconnect vacuum line.

The photos are examples of the vacuum circuit connect via hoses. Listen for a vacuum leak when the engine is running. It would be a whistle sound. Also if work has been done recently look in the area that the work was done under the hood.

• IAC circuit short to GND
• Damaged IAC valve

Disconnect IAC valve and look for little or no change in engine rpm as an indication of a stuck or damaged valve.

Torque Converter Clutch Solenoid Circuit Performance is the error code. Unfortunately this is a common code and requires addressing by a qualified technician.

(P1443 Evaporative Emission System Control Valve (low/no flow)) fairly simple repair just buy new parts not wrecking yard. Google how to fix this code .

your vehicle is driving good, not slipping etc... because what i can see from what im reading you have an electrical problem with the transmission wiring.. check the plugs that plug in the transmission, and follow them, im sure you will find something skint up somewhere.

the Canister Purge Assembly. This assembly connects the intake manifold to the charcoal canister and the assembly is made up of hoses, a valve and a sensor. it is located near the front of the engine compartment on the driver’s side (the canister is right behind the driver’s side headlight). Apparently, if there are any cracks in the hoses, or if the valve or the sensor wears out, this will cause the check engine light to come on, and return the P1443 code.
