I just replaced the head gaskets on my 96 chevy camaro with the 3.8 v6. During test drive the check eng light came on I checked the code and it was a po300 multiple misfires. I checked for vaccuum leaks and other problems and found nothing. I cleared the lite and drove the car again it ran perfect. However when I took it for its smog check as it sat idling to warm up, the eng started to idle rough and the the lite came on again the tech checked it and again it was a po300 code. Any clues????

I had the same prob with my 96 3.8. The read outs were diff every time I had it put on the machine. I took the plug wires off the coil packs, held the end next to the poles, and watched for a spark, if it sparked, that coil pack was good, one of my coil packs did not spark on any of the two poles, I changed it, and SHAZAM! I dont know why the head gaskets brought this prob to the front, but it sounds like the coil packs, but Im no GURU, just a shade tree mec. also, EGR will cause this, MAF sensor will as well. PCV, FUEL Filter, and as you said, vac leaks... if none of those, beat on your computer mod, left side under hood up under the window, not too hard, if the idle changes with your beats, its the prob, if not, test the FUEL PUMP, and if thats the prob, GOOD LUCK! HAVE FUN!

I need to know how to rebuild the top end on my 96 camaro 3800 v6

You'll need to remove the heads. Take them to a machine shop. They will do a valve job, check the heads for cracks, check for bad valve guides and replace the valve stem seals.

My 1994 Camaro v6 3.4 liter has a coolant leak and consumes much more gas than normal; also, it seems to not have its power fully engaged when driving.

Check for white-grayish smoke at the ear end from the exhaust, especially if you are losing coolant but can't find puddles under the car. Your symptoms point to a head gasket problem. You can do a visual inspection on the plugs for inconsistencies in dampness and color fo clues. Running a compression test on all cylinders will tell you for sure.

There is a coolant leak in my 1996 chevy camaro. it has the 3.4 litre V6. I replaced the intake gaskets and still have a slow coolant leak into the engine oil? Could it be a head gasket?

Since you used a question mark after "engine oil", I assume that you're not too sure where the coolant is going. While it's certainly possible for the coolant to end up in your oil, you should be able to see byproducts of combustion in your coolant (a very dirty coolant) if the head gasket is leaking. It could also force coolant out of your overflow as you drive, but not while you are sitting idle, making it hard to actually see if this happening to your coolant. Check your coolant for signs of this "blow-by". If your engine is losing power, you might want to do a cylinder balance check.
