Sounds like you could have a leak in air intake somewhere and the warm air is is not a friend to your engine.

check that. I know some years had a recall with this so maybe you can check your dealer if this affected your vehicle.

there's plenty of areas where things can come undone but most are pretty easy to check and on top. trace it back to the air intake box (front right).

pop it open and check your air filter while you are at it. you can lightly beat it against the driveway or something

I have buick 2003 century 3.1L it started running weird and losing power up hills and seemed like it wouldnt shift right and had poor gas mileage. The check engine light came on once briefly. Scanned it...

Check EGR valve to make sure their isn't a piece of carbon stuck under valve seat. Also you need to check exhaust back pressure to make sure you don't have a converter pluged.

2004 chevy trailblazer power loss, high rpms, low ppms

Check the timing chain. Some times the chain will shift with worn teeth and get out of synch. This will cause the engine to lose power and back fire. Sometimes with a flame through the carb. I did that one once. Easy fix if it is the problem.

At 2000 rpm my 87 Toyota pickup the check engine light comes on and it loses power

I'm a mechanic by trade and I see this all the time. Many things can happen that cause this, bad gas, I see this more and more, a clogged fuel filter, bad spark plugs and wires, but the first competent I check is the O2 sensor. This sensor can become clogged and fill with black soot, when they go out the car can become sluggish, losing power and will affect fuel mileage

Losing gas mileage

Are you going by the computer read out in the car or do you calculate it yourself. If you start your car and let it warm up so it is warm when you get in it, the computer in the car will show loss of miles per gallon.

Losing gas mileage, why? losing an estimated half a mile per mile

The most common cause for loss of mileage is the engine not being properly tuned. Resrtricted air filter, spark plugs, dirty injectors, dirty egr valve, fuel filter, under inflated tires. These are the basics....I hope this helps.

My car ocasionally loses power like its not getting gas. It will hesitate but a few seconds later it will gain full power. And this seems to happen after weve driven it for a while.

You may have clogged converters, a bad EGR valve or a bad TPS (throttle position sensor). Do you have a "check engine" light on? What engine do u have? Year of car? Mileage?
