Well you can purchase a Prestone Flushing Kit, that includes a T valve with a cap that you can remove to connect a garden hose to, that you would install in line in one of heater hoses. Install the T valve, connect a garden hose to the T valve, remove the radiator cap and turn on the garden hose, once you have clear water coming out the radiator, turn off the hose and disconnect it and install the T valve cap. Then on the other tank that doesn't have the radiator cap, at the bottom of that tank, is a petcock, unscrew it to drain the radiator. Drain the water out and close the drain and refill the radiator.

My 1941 buick overheats

Couple of things could be happening...
1. Losing radiator fluid-crack in radiator, leaking hose.
2. Thermostat is stuck, going bad, installed upside down.
3. Radiator needs to be flushed/re-cored.
4. Engine cooling passages are plugged up.
5. Fan too small or cheap aluminum flex fan installed.

My 2002 Buick Rendevous has a hot coolant

Install the new thermostat (make sure it is the right temp). This will allow for your coolant to stay long enough in the radiator to cool down.

If that does not fix it, check radiator cap, belt that turns the water pump and the water pump itself along with its pulley.

There is also the possibility that the coolant temperature sensor is giving off false readings, that the coolant system is clogged or your engine fan is not operating when it should be.
