Problem with Mitsubishi 1990 Mighty Max

How to install a crankshaft kit?

So basically I am debating wether or not to purchase a truck and it needs a new crankshaft! I am a fairly mechanical person, so I was wondering how in depth this project would be? I was wondering What the parts list would consist of( i.e.) Seals, Tools. I have already researched crankshaft kits and they are reasonably priced. I have never worked on a mitsubishi so i was just looking for a general overview, Should i pull the motor, or should I just start looking for another truck! Any thing helps!

That is about as in-depth as you could go, you will need to be very experienced and skilled to replace the crankshaft, and of course you will need to remove the engine first and mount it on a good engine stand before you can even begin the process of replacing the crankshaft.

You will need the appropriate size rod bearings if the crank kit did not come with them, and if you are not removing the pistons then you will need to be even more careful when you install the new crankshaft so that you do not scratch or gouge the crankshaft and piston rod bearing surfaces, you should replace the oil pump, and you will also need all the engine gaskets to re-seal the engine.

After all of that is done, and the engine is back in the vehicle, all that it would take to destroy all of that hard work is just one tiny piece of metal shaving left over in the engine block from the old crankshaft.

It would be a lot wiser and cheaper to just replace the engine with one of those low mile Japanese engines that they import from Japan, like from "Japanese Imports" or some other Japanese engine importers.
