First question, does your truck have cruise control? If so, find the cable that goes from the cruise module to the throttle body, and disconnect the cable and see if that solves your problem. Next thing is inspect the throttle cable, from the gas pedal through the firewall to the throttle body, and look for any kinks, anything contacting the cable or linkage.

there is a sensor on the top of the gas pedal. in 2002 toyota replaced the gas pedal cable with a sensor . have it checked

Once the breather is removed you will be able to access the cable linkages. Disconnect the cable from the throttle. You can now move the throttle manually to see if the problem is there or if it is in the cable or the pedal.
If the throttle moves freely the issue is most likely somewhere else. If the throttle is the location of the problem you will want to clean that. Depending on whether you have a carbureted or a fuel injected vehicle you will want to make sure you get the appropriate spray cleaner from your parts dealer. Fuel injector cleaner won't get all of the stuff that might be causing problems on a carburetor but carburetor cleaner will leave residues that can damage a fuel

locate the cable from the motor. disconnect,hold up high spray wd-40 into cable,lots cause you want it to run all the way through

actually my dad had the same problem with the gas pedal sticking on his low milage 1999 Buick LeSabre. As a result of this problem, he was involved in a wreck and the car was totaled. We have been told by his mechanic that this is a problem with that year of LaSabre.
