Does the speedometer work? If no, then it sounds like the output shaft speed sensor. If yes then it might be the input shaft speed sensor.

Speedo works , Tach is intermitent. Have changed tranny filter , and used proper ATF 4.
Swaped the TCM relay , Disconected the battery over night , No Luck yet. Would the car have to go trhough a few driving cycles to reset the computer ? And Lastly , could you tell me where the physical location of the input shaft sensor is ? There seem to be lots of sensors all over the tranny. Thanks

It is screwed into the front of the case right below where the cooler lines are attached.

csmock132 : It's fixed ya , thanks lots , I was able to find the location of the sensor online and replaced it with one from the wrecker , and everything works. Will be replacing input and output sensors with new ones as soon as my parts store can get them. I know that particular trans has a host of different issues that could cause the problem , but thanks to you , I didn't have to try 10 other things first.

My Chrysler cirrus 99 overheats. It leaks fluid what is the cheaper way to fix this issue

fix the leak as there is no cheap way to fix an overheat problem
have pressure test done on the system to find the leak
have a compression test done to check for head gasket/cracked head

2005 1.9 sdi caddy goes into limp mode

Does the yellow engine management light come on during this? If so you should get someone to check the fault codes as there are several reasons for limp moding.fuel lines , electrical system, low oil pressure, overheat issues etc.OD11 testing will save you lots of time and give you a direction of where to put things right.

Why doesn't my 1992 Buick go over 35 mph sometimes? And why does the overheat light always come on?

probably because it is overheating from lack of coolant and the CPU has put the system in limp mode so that the damage to the engine is minimised until you realize that it is serious and have it fixed.

05 mini cooper S went into limp home mode, warrning lights blinking, shut off and re-started. Stopped for a bit then back into limp home ? what might be causing this

Look in the owners manual

There is usually only a couple choices
when you go into Fail Safe

ETC Fail Safe -- for ignition problems,to protect the converter
Overheating Fail Safe
Transmission Limp Mode or Overheat

Just examples
Don't know your vehicle systems

Check for codes as ALWAYS WITH ALL
VEHICLE PROBLEMS first thing you do,
don't need to ask any questions

Check for codes-- then google them

My Chrysler cirrus goes into low 1 or low 2 on its on. It says that it goes in limp mode. What would cause that. Its a automatic transmission.

"Limp Mode" is determined by the Powertrain Control Module (PCM). It could be going into limp mode as a result of a transmission malfunction or it may be going into limp mode as the result of an engine control problem. The only way to find out is to scan your onboard computer system and retrieve any engine or transmission fault codes and diagnose and repair accordingly.

Please note that engine control problems can CAUSE transmission control problems. If there are any engine control faults, these MUST be diagnosed and repaired FIRST.

1995 Chrysler Cirrus overheating

Probably not water pump. Engine is notourious for vapour lock.
Cooling system must be blead of air before thermostat will work. Cool bottom rad hose is a dead give away. If you are still watching this forum reply , and I will walk you through the only way I know how to make it work properly. It's actually easy if you do it my way. I have worked on lots of cars , and this engine was the hardest to bleed out. Did one Yesterday , and works perfect.

have you try changing thermostat that causes it to overheat sometimes if you have a leaky hose get it changed i have a 96 corsica i had the same problem fixed hose changed thermostat still was overheating took to a radiator shop they tested it it ended up being that get it tested first if they tell you it is the radiator they are probably gonna charge you A LOT take your time and doit your self if you think you cant do it then once you know is that look around to see who charges you less.

Coolant sensor

refill and bleed the cooling system.  The water from your overflowing radiator may be the cause of you engine problems....dry of the motor.
