Question about 1999 Toyota Camry Solara

Open Question

1999 solara that I just had all 4 struts replaced, after getting the car back the "trac off" light is flashing and the "ABS" light stays on, I drove the care for a week to see if they would reset. The button for the "trac off" light dose not seem to cure the flashing light problem when pushed, is this a sideaffect from replacing the struts, can I reset these lights myself or do I deed to bring them to the shop for resetting???

SOURCE: ABS light on!

Its possible you damaged a rear wheel speed sensor when you did the strut job. If the wire was pulled tight when the strut was removed it could have pulled the copper strands in the wire from the sensor causing a open circuit. This is not uncommon. You need to have the ABS system scanned for codes and see which rear wheel sensor is effected. If you were to just clear the code it will just come back on. With the ABS light on, the ABS system is deactivated and the brake system works normally as a car without ABS.

SOURCE: hello, I have a 1999

go to something like advanced auto, where they do free diagnostics tests they can sometimes reset trac lights and/or check engine lights but also if you where in to get an alignment they can also reset the trac light. but btw not every car has trac... if your trac is off it will not effect the proformance of your car.

SOURCE: replacing rear struts on 1999 Camry

As long as you have the ready struts no. They come with the spring and mount already attached. If you don't, you better have a good spring compressor to remove the old strut and replace it with a new one.

I installed rear struts and now the trac off light and abs light is on

Did you attach everything back the way it was before you took it apart? Sometimes those abs sensors get ruined in the process. Diy on my car and messed it all up. Try disconnecting battery to reset it if you think everything was put back correctly.

Had struts put on my 1999 ES 300 Lexus, now my TRAC & ABS STAYS ON, WHAT'S making them stay on?

Those systems are controlled with sensors on the wheels. One may not be lined up well enough to sense the speed of the tire or the mechanic broke one and didn't tell anybody.

Either someone damaged a sensor for the ABS/TRAC control, or the replacement parts are not compatible with the ABS system.

Abs light is on

This generally means that you have a problem with your brake system. I would try opening the hood and checking the brake fluid level on your Avalon.

Enhanced Traction System Warning Light (TRAC OFF)

Sometimes it's a complaint with the ABS braking system. If it comes on and you have no other problems and stays on for while, check your brakes. I have had this issue before and had my brakes replaced. They were worn but for some reason were not squeaking.
