Question about 2003 Mercury Grand Marquis
This page displays a 2003 when i entered 2004. that aside, here's what's happening: our headlights work after the car has been idel for a while or we use the turn signal lever by holding it up while driving. when making a short hop and restart the car they won't come back on. the lights will go off often even on these short hops. using the turn signal lever always works! at first we suspected the rearview senser and even the battery. on every attempt the parking lights have worked, including turn signals and flashers. the rearview has vibrated some since replacing the windshield and we've recently begun using a handycap hanger...all of which prompted suspecting the senser. after reading other people's descriptions on this matter, we suspect we're not looking in the right direction.......
The turn signal multifunction switch is prabably the problem. Very common failure. The fact that you said if you held it in differnet positions and got different results tells me to replace it .
