I have a 95 nissan 300zx twin turbo and theres a belt squeaking whenever i turn the car on. it squeaks louder as the rpms go up. after a while it goes away but sometimes if i rev high it starts up again....

almost certainly the fanbelt is in need of replacement/tightening,on this car the alternator is the adjuster, loosen the bolts, lever the alternator away from the engine and then tighten the bolts.DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN THE BELT.1/2" play in the longest run is fine.

1986 300zx fan belt replacement...can't get belts off

You need the release tension on the driven accessories, alternator, power steering pump, smog pump MULTIPAL BELTS.

If it is a single SERPENTINE belt there will be an idler that is spring loaded and will release the tension on the belt.

ALWAYS NOTE HOW THE BELT(s) ARE ROUTED make a detailed drawing you will forget it happens to me all the time.

Alternator belt apply problem

Look for a decal of some kind for the belts. I take it that your probably have V belts, you mentioned moving the alternator bracket. That's your adjustment so with that all in, it should slip right on. Check and see if there is any other adjustment you can make. If all else fails you can go to a local auto parts store and pickup a manual which I'm positive will have a diagram of some sort in it. Hope this helps!

1990 nissan 300zx nonturbo - change alternator belt how?

If you look at the front of the alternator, behind the belt, you'll see a curving grooved metal track - that's the adjuster track for the alternator. There's a bolt going through the groove into the alternator, which holds the alternator in place. You need to loosen that. I believe it's a 14mm bolt. You may also need to loosen a couple of the 12mm bolts that mount either the bracket or the alternator, to allow it to move. You'll probably find that it's easier to cut the old belt off (so it's out of the way) and then do the bolt work with a little more room to spare. Belt changes are always a pain on these cars - stick with it even if it takes awhile. If that doesn't get the alternator loose, loosen or remove other bolts on the alternator mount or on the track mount, and it will move eventually - not much, but it'll move. You may find that you can partially seat the belt on the alternator pulley, but can't get the belt fully onto the pulley. If that's the case, get it as far on as you can, and then put a 27mm socket on a long breaker bar, put the socket on the crank pulley bolt, and with the car in neutral, rotate the crank pulley by hand. This will pull the belt onto the alternator pulley.
