SOURCE: replacing broken belts 1990 toyota pickup

I found that it is embarrassingly obvious once you get the parts and place them in position. Each belt only fits the appropriate pulley in width and length. When the belt breaks there's no visual reference (as one would have if he replaced the belts before they broke!) if the belt diagram is worn off the hood. Lesson learned; replace belts- a simple task- before they break!

SOURCE: fan on alternator wont spin

I think you should check your connections on the back of the altenator, something is wired incorrectly, if necessary hook up one wire at a time and see what you get. There should be only one large red wire on the BATT connection, and the rest should be in a molded clip that plugs into the altenator, check and ensure that they have a good connection when you hook them up.

Buy a Haynes auto repair manual. They are available at most parts stores. Not only will it tell you how to replace the alternator belt. but will come in handy when other problems pop up.

SOURCE: Does the 1996 T-100 Toyota pick-up have a timing

It has a timing BELT. I just had mine replaced ($600). After well over 100k. It was barely worn so go to the effort/expense of checking before you go whole hog on a replacement. Also the V6 3.4 litre is a NON interference engine.

Remove fan belt

Hi Tom, The adjustment of the alternator is carried out by 1) loosening the locking nut which is fitted to the top front housing of the alternator and is fitted parallel to the alternator. 2) loosen the adjustment bolt located on top of the bracket until the belt can be removed and a replacement fitted. How do you loosen starter motor to change the fan belt

There is not starter motor located in the fan belt location. you probably refer to the alternator. There are 2 bolts to hold the alternator to the chassis bracket. Loosen both of them, one for pivot and the other for belt adjuster. When you can wigle the alternator then you can take the belt off. Good luck.

Toyota corolla 1996 alternator tensioner spec

The Drive Belt (used) should be between 60-100lbf. Check for wear and any cracks on the belt. If you have a new belt the tension will be higher, that is bewteen 100-150lbf. Use a belt tension checker to measure this. Adjust the tensioning bolt located beneath the alternator until the tension is met. Hope that help you out.

First you must remove the alternator belt. Loosen the alternator bracket then the alternator tensioner bolt, and remove the alternator belt. Then you have access for the a/c belt.

Installation of a timing belt that loosened during removal of alternator for '05 Toyota Camry LE

Your timing belt has nothing to do with the alternator. You must mean your fan belt do you? The serpentine belt that you loosened to change the alternator? There should be a directional sticker under your hood somewhere, to show you how to put it back on. If not, just put ribs to ribs, and flats to flats, and work your way around.
