I have a 99 Pontiac grand am v6 3400. While driving I have lose of power when accelerator from 35 mph to 50 mph what would cause this

If it is up hills only then you have an underpowered engine that can not accelerate in third gear like the junky little Corolla E110 and it's Chevrolet Prizm clone 120 HP on on 2400 pound car do but a 170 HP V6 on a 3000 lb should have more power then that. In any case it is because you are in third gear and first and second gear have enough torque to accelerate properly.

It is the feature I hate the most on smaller engine cars.

1986 Cadillac loses power going up hills. Check engine light comes on. Also pedal hesitation when trying to excellerate up hills

have you looked up the codes? sounds like a clogged filter or bad fuel pump. Either way, have the check engine light looked at.

Hi i have a 1989 dodge ram 50 2.6 idals great but when i start putting a load on the engine especialy when i get in to third gear going up a hill it starts missing bad. i bought the truck with a alarm in...

few sterains holding. The ballast resistor is on the firewall and you can find it by following the wires coming from the coil. Diasconnect the wires from the resistor and see if it'll run if you just connect them together. If it runs good don't leave it that way install and new resistor as the coil can burn out under full power like it gets when it's in the start position. Your special swith was installed to take the place of a bad ightion switch and now it might be the rest of the switch is starting to fail. I've changed alot of them but you might have to call around alot to get a new one that's why yuours has a button to start as whoever fixed it that way could'ntr find a good switch or did'nt want to pay or wait to order one in.
