Question about 2007 Fiat Pininfarina

Open Question

I've a problem with the warm start off a Fiat coupe '95. It has only 46.000 Km. 2000 16V. Non turbo. I have an intermittent problem with the car stalling and then not starting for about an hour. It then starts and drives perfectly! It seems When the engine is cold it starts ok but when the engine is warm it starts but then becomes groggy and runs badley until it stalls. I try to accelerate but it loses power. The red light from the injectors stays a little bit longer on then usual I don't know if it has something to do with this problem or it?s the cold sensor needs replacing as its telling the engine to inject too much fuel. Can you help?? ps After 5 workshop visits they couldn't find the problem.

This sounds to be a problem with the ignition module. The module might produce a fairly nice spark at an idle, but at higher rpm's the spark should intensify, if it doesn't then the car will not run at a higher rpm.

Clean the engine block with a compressor and find out where the oil is coming from.
If there is no leak, and motor stays clean, then the oil is being combusted inside the engine, and you should get black smoke from exhaust. In this case it is time to a major repair to the engine.

check that your injectors are not leaking around there housing, as this was the problem with my doblo. (first injector) to the right handside as you look at the engine.

SOURCE: FIAT PUNTO. Ticking for short period following start up

Definitely change your oil every 3 months or 3000 miles. After you change it add a half cup of Lucas engine oil suppliment when the engine is hot.
If if goes away you know it's cam or lifter issue. If it doesn't the ticking you hear may simply be your fuel system.

I have a second hand ecu which I want to fit to my fiat coupe 20 v turbo but I only have one basic key ,how can I bypass the immobiliser ? Thankyou

I would check with Fiat first on what you will need to do if you change the ECU. It may be as simple as programming a new key to the system once you do a swap or it may not.

The systems are complex and vary from vehicle to vehicle so check with Fiat before you do anything.

Hi ,bought a fuel injector from eBay and I'm not sure it's the right one for my fiat coupe 20 v turbo ,are the injectors for a fiat coupe 20v non turbo the same ?

Turbo and non turbo are not the same...check the serial numbers against one another, if you install one wrong injector you will damage your engine completely!
ask the agents nicely if they can compare before replacement! Good luck cheers Dave

1998 Impreza 2.0 non turbo wont idle properly

Lots of things it could be. Egr valve sticking, a hose that came off, a bad sensor for airflow, or even throttle position sensor.

Intermittent nature seems to point to something sticky or loose.
