I am changing the oil pump on a ford fiesta TdCI and I need to know the cam belt timing marks or a diagram on the cam belt

Set the crank to 0 degrees according to the timing marks on the damper, look on the cam pulley for a mark and line it up with the mark on the head. Put the belt on WITHOUT moving the cam or the crank.

the makes are on the inside of cam gears and on the bottom crank there is a mark on the crank gear but if you cant find the one on crank just take out the spark plug in cyclinder one and softly put a rod in the hole and turn the crank till the rod is all the way at the top

Need to know where are the timing marks

I don't know what engine you have, but all engines have timing marks on them. One on the crank will line up the engine to TDC on the number one piston, with the cover/s removed, you can see the cams aligned to their marks if the crank is on it's mark. A lot of cars use the same heads, cams on different engines, so they have more than one mark, when your crank is on TDC, the cam marks will be the ones you need. Either a diamond or a dot , or a slash. If your belt has broken and the engine ran for more than 2 seconds, take it to the junk yard, It will be shot. Hope this helps.

Need to know where the timing marks are on cam and cranck for 1991 oldsmobile sillouetechanging the timing chain.how do i line up the marks?

Finding the timing marks is simple, it is an impression (a small arrow) on both the crank and the cam. As for the exact time set, I would refer to the owner's manual but if you are doing it off the cuff pull the number one piston top dead center, line up the rotor button with the number one piston and set crank at top dead center and cam at bottom dead center. This will be a good starting point, but the owner's manual will give you more exact instructions.

We need to know where the cam timing marks go on a 1998 Hyundai Accent. The cam was turned after the belt was removed. We need to know how to aline the camshaft.

Hi

The cam dowel should be at 12:00. the hole in the cam sprocket should be line up with the cam dowel, with cam sprocket assembled to cam, you will see looking through the cam sprocket a red marking on the head, which lines up with the dowel. Down at the crank, make sure the cut out mark on the crank spocket is lined up with the notch on the oil pump cover.

Thanks for using FixYa - Steve

I put the camshaft without making a mark now is misriding so it turn off one I stop on any lihgt I need to know the position it goes.

You will have to start over-todays vehicles have become very complicated and timing marks aren't always where you "think" they should be..You WILL need a repair manual on this vehicle before you can proceed-a library is a good source for these if you don't, or can't buy them. You definitely NEED to know at what position the marks on the cam and crank need to be at-and where to find the the marks on the block for reference. On late models there is no "timing the engine" after it is reassembled-the computer does that..

98 s70 timing marks

The plastic cover that you take off on top of the cylinder head. Its two pieces. The piece on the left you need to put back on. There are two cut out marks on it. Those are you cam timing marks for TDC, and there is a mark on the crank as well that should match up to the bottom of the engine block. Youll know when you see it.

Replacing timing belt 91 mercury capri

according to a manual , the crank key will point to arrow , the intake cam should have an letter i aligned with arrow on belt cover and exhaust cam should have letter e aligned with arrow on belt cover , and as always rotate the engine 2 full turns to inspect timing marks before cranking or trying to start the engine . if you haven't taken the original belt off yet , paint your marks for quicker reference .

Belts

Timing belt has marks on it that refer to the cam marks and the crank gear. Looking at the engine from the front, the timing belt should drape over the two cam gears, with 40 cogs between them on the belt. The timing belt should have 42 or 43? cogs between the driver cam mark and the mark on the crank gear. The way i've installed mine is to put the belt on the driver side cam and crank, and then put it on the passenger side cam. You'll need to lock the tensioner clockwise about 70-80 degrees to get enough clearance to install the belt.
