Sometimes the car will not start after showing a warning TRANSMISSON Problem but after waiting for a while will start; at other times it will switch into FAIL SAFE MODE with restricted engine performance shortly after having started and driven for a mile or two- eventually it will come back to full power after a few miles or 30 min- basically unpredictable and repeated behaviour. it twice has cut the engine on the highway with complete loss of power- barely able to make it to the emergency lane and stop. Once the engine cut after the air conditioning suddently seemed to have stopped.
meanwhile i have come to realise that something has not been ok with the cooling system. Can one make a mistake after refilling the system-airlock??? since i had to repeatedly top up the coolant but now seems to hold the level?

i had this problem last week and i changed my oxygen sensor under the engine not the one on the side see what number sensor does the diagnostic give no1 is side of engine and no.2 is under engine
