Steering wheel and ignition look 1992 bmw 525i

The key only turns enough to unloock the steering wheel but will not turn further to stwrt the car.I need to remove the ignition lock to have it repaired.I have undone the nut that holds the steering wheel on but the wheel won't comme off. It seems to hook at the bottom. As well as this I can'see any pin or screw which I can use to release the actual lock.
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Sorry I have not done a BMW but steering wheels usually require a puller to remove from the spline.
I have mostly worked on *** cars and the steering lock and key are removed without the steering wheel removed. The lock assembly attaches around the steering column, and is held on by some tamperproof bolts which break the hex off on installation, so you are left with round heads that look like rivets, I use a small chisel or punch to get them turning, it may be possible to drill the heads off as well, Sorry again if my info only relates to japanese cars, but hopfully I helped with the steering wheel removal.

I have a 2004 BMW 525i. I am having problems getting the key out the ignition when trying to turn car off. I find myself having to push the gear all the way up in Park before the key will release.

Somehow the mechanism is out of adjustment.
First, try a tiny bit of spray lubricant in the hole where you put the key.
If that doesn't help, you may have to take the car in to the shop and have the steering wheel removed and a part or two replaced.
Has someone tried to force the car steering wheel at one time?
Was the car in a wreck that involved the steering?
God bless your efforts.

Bmw e60 523i 2005 is not turning the key to on the car

is the steering locked if it is you need to rotate the steering wheel back and forth while turning the key to release the lock, if the steering is turned all the way then try turning the steering wheel right while wiggling the key in the ignition to release the lock, if the steering wheel is free then get some graphite from an auto parts store and put it on the key and insert it into the ignition to get it lubricated

Cannot turn ignition key, steering wheel is locked

As you turn your ignition key, forcefully turn your steering wheel back and forth! This should do the trick.

When i try to start my bmw the key wont turn

The steering will have a few degrees of play, even when locked. Pull the wheel down(or up whicheer is easier) and turn the key.

The steering lock jams the key in there. If the wheel is turned to the left, turn it further to the left and turn the key.

The key will turn far enough to start the accessories but will not move far enough to turn the engine on.

try turning steering wheel a bit, or move shifter up past park. Otherwise ignition may have a broken or stuck pin and will need to be replaced.

Have a 1995 bmw 525i and i went to statrt it one morning and the key turned in the ignition but the car would not turn over there was no spring resistance when you turn the key to the start positition

It sounds like the rod which goes from the key cylinder down to the slide switch has come loose. The rod is along the bottom side of the steering column (or insidie it). If you reattach the rod all should work again.

Ignition

This is a simple fix.  Either the key is worn and you need a new key cut, or your ignition switch is worn and you need to replace it. Personally, I would start with a new key.  Before spending any money, try pulling on the steering wheel a little in both directions while turning the key.  I have seen steering locks prevent the key from turning on older cars.
