Hello,

Thanks for using FixYa.

Avg. labor = $300
Avg. cost for parts (reverse lever mechanism assembly) = around $1000

Good luck. Nice car by the way...

Opel corsa 2003 car will not lock with key only can push down other doors

some cars had the mechanical levers inside the doors disconnected as remote control actuators are used ,check out to see if they are connected still if the actuator is connected mechanically it may stop the reliable mechanical key assy from working .disconnect actuator link in door panel.

What is the reverse locking mechanism called thats on the shift lever called and how do you replace it?

Without being able to see what exactly is broken, the best advice I can give you is that you are going to have to ask someone who works on cars, probably for a living (i.e. a mechanic) to give you an estimate of what it will cost to fix. The estimate is probably going to be free. Depending on what part of the control linkage is broken, it could be expensive to pull out the broken piece and replace the locking mechanism. Only someone who has done that before is going to know what it will take to fix it.

Hi do i need to replace the main bearing and the conrod bearing bolts on the opel corsa 6W engine 2006 model

it is good mechanical practice to replace all bolts that are operating under tension. That includes con rod bolts , big end bolts fly wheel bolts , head studs and crank shaft bolt. Some manuals recommend the replacement of cam shaft sprocket bolts as well. This practice is recommended where the engine is driven at high rpms. It is recommended practice because the tension effect actually twists the bolt and this combined with the tensional stress makes the bolts prone to failure. As it adds considerably to the cost many mechanics do not follow the practice but will charge for the new bolts as well.

On my 2003 sportage the driver door opening lever will not return fully flush but stays out. Is there a cure if the door panel is removed to expose the opening mechanism? Thanks Peter

I have the same problem with my sportage and a friend of mine has the same problem with his Rio. I have played with the mechanism on mine multiple occasions. I tried lubing everything, checking for damage, adjustments and so on and nothing seemed to help. in my opinion the only way to fix the problem is to replace the door handle.

Head gasket blown. What is approximate cost to

    Considerations
  1. Many internal engine problems, such as a blown head gasket, cracked head or cracked piston, can be repaired without having to replace an entire engine.
  2. Potential
  3. While taking the time to replace an engine may seem labor-intensive and costly, it will add years to a vehicle's life and will save a car owner from the cost of having to buy a new car.
  4. Benefits
  5. Taking a car to a mechanic and replacing an engine with a used engine can cost between $1,000 to $2,000 for parts and labor.
  6. Solution
  7. Car owners interested in replacing their engines with new ones can expect to pay anywhere between $2,000 to $4,000.
  8. Speculation
  9. For those interested in doing the engine replacement themselves, purchasing specialized tools needed for the job is a cost to consider in addition to the price of a replacement engine.

Reverse lights on my vauxhal corsa v reg are not working

It`s the reverse light switch under the bonnet had to replace it on my 16v t reg corsa costs about 8-£10 and comes off easily because it`s just a bolt with electricals leading to the back lighting. This happens on every Corsa. Let me guess Your Heater control lights and fan swich lights have gone too on the interior. Any problem corsa related, been there done it.

Maintenance costs

Oil change will cost about $200, tires? depends how and how much you drive and quality you buy. Guess you could spend $200 each. Brakes depend how much you drive but a quality brake job will cost about $1,000. As far as daily driver?well this car is not designed for that, and will probably suffer in stop and go traffic. So would need a tuneup about every 4-6 months at a cost of about $2,000. then you need a mechanic that is trained. Hope you can find one in your area.
