Are you getting power to the switch? Check with volt meter set to DC if you have one, or use 12v test light. Check all connections, one should have a steady 12volt supply. If you are getting power, the motor which controls the movement of the mirror could be damaged.

SOURCE: How to remove side view interior mirror control switches

You need to remove the door panel. there are 2 t-25 screws behind the pull handle (some models do have only one screw) as well as you must remove about 9 push buttons. then the door panel will pull away from the door itself then you can get to the mirror switch

SOURCE: The driver's side power window switch just stopped

just for the drivers side window? if so it could be the power window regulator,or ive seen the wire harness in between where the driver door and the body fo the car meet the wires inside there break from all of the flexing from opening and closing the drivers door and that will give you the same problem of inop windows, but the only way to check it is cut that black rubber loom open and look,,,,if it is repair all affected wires with heatshrink **** connectors to make it weather proof and then electricail tape the loom closed nice and tight,,,,hope this helps

SOURCE: 2005 yukon side mirror controls do not respond.

  1. check to see if there is a fuse for the mirrors and replace if bad.
  2. check mirror control switch to make sure its working, also check contacts and make sure there clean, u can use a volt meter to see if there is power going to and from the switch, but if both mirrors are not working the rule of thumb is it must be something that would effect both and not just one mirror such as bad fuse bad switch or a break in the power line goting to the switch.
hope this helps

That accessory will probably probably be grouped with other accessories on one fuse. So it will not be the label. Check visually for the blown fuse. There will probably be other accessories that don't work as well, such as the seats or some minor power driven device. Visually you can see if a fuse is blown
A good flashlight helps when looking, if the fuse box is in a tight location.
Best,
Mark

Side view mirror switch control how do I test it to make sure it's working

if it works for the mirror on one side but not the other it is working and the problem is with the mirror or mirror circuit, if it doesn't work with either mirror it is probably the switch. the plug may have come off the back of the switch

How to replace 04 ranger mirror switch

Does the other side mirror work?

If the other side mirror adjusts with the switch, then it could be an issue with the mirror which isn't working.
Usually a mirror has two motors, one for up/down and another for left/right. If the mirror works in one direction and not in the other, yet the mirror on the other side works in all directions, then the issue is not the switch, but the mirror.

Unless none of that is relevant and you are talking about the fold function.

If neither mirror folds when you depress the fold button, then you need to check or change the switch as the most likely cause of the issue.
If you can provide me with a picture of the switch, then I can try to advise on how to remove and replace it.

Both elec door mirrors stopped responding same tme, why?

First, make sure you do not have the mirror control switch in the "neutral" position. If it is, neither mirror will work. If the switch is in the correct position to operate each mirror and neither of them work, the next thing I would check would be the MIRRORS fuse (2 Amp) located in the Body Control Module Fuse Block under the right side of the dash near the blower motor. If the fuse is blown, you probably have one of your mirror circuits shorting to ground. In this case, I would replace the fuse and see if it blows again when I operate each mirror. If one side works and the fuse blows when trying to operate the other side, then you at least know which mirror circuit is shorted and you can diagnose accordingly. If the fuse blows immediately (without operating the switch), or if the fuse is not blown, then you most likely have a defective mirror control switch or a broken wire in the umbilical that goes between the body and the driver's door.

01 dodge truck mirrors quit workingfuses are good and the switch controler is good also. Any ideas?

could be the little electric motors (2) inside the mirror, 1 is for up down movement and the other is side to side.
if that is the problem it is best to replace the mirror as a complete unit I have found

Power windows an locks work ok ? Do you know anything about automotive electeronic control modules ?
Power Mirror System
Power Mirror System Components
The power mirror system consists of the following components:
• Driver Door Switch (DDS)--An electronic control module with integrated switches and requires programming when replaced
• Passenger Door Switch (PDS)--An electronic control module with integrated switches, requires programming when replaced
• Power Mirror Direction Switch--Integrated into DDS and is a 4 position momentary switch that provides a signal input to the DDS for up, down, left/extend and right/retract with a mirror switch activation
• Mirror Select Switch--Integrated into DDS and is a 3 position switch that allows the operator to select the left or right mirror and also a neutral/fold position
• Left Outside Power Mirror--Contains both the vertical and horizontal mirror motors
• Right Outside Power Mirror--Contains both the vertical and horizontal mirror motors
• Body Control Module--An electronic control module that requires programming when replaced, serves as the power mode master and is the main message handler
• Memory Switch, if equipped with memory mirrors--Supplied power by the DDS and provides a voltage signal to the DDS upon a switch activation
• Horizontal and Vertical Position Sensors, if equipped with memory mirrors--Supplied a 5-volt and low reference by the DDS/PDS and provide a variable voltage signal to the DDS/PDS that is proportional to mirror position
• Powertrain Control Module (PCM), if equipped with memory mirrors--An electronic control module that requires programming when replaced and provides the message indicating transmission gear selection
• Driver Information Center (DIC), if equipped with memory mirrors--Part of the instrument cluster which is a an electronic control module that requires programming when replaced and is used to personalize the memory recall functions
• Fold Motor, in each of the outside mirrors, if equipped with power fold mirrors--Provides extend and retract movements of the mirror and is serviced as a complete mirror assembly
Each of the outside power mirrors contains 2 reversible motors to provide horizontal and vertical movement of the mirror glass. The vertical motor operates the up and down directions and the horizontal motor operates the left and right directions. If equipped with power folding mirrors, each outside power mirror will contain a reversible fold motor to operate the extend and retract functions. Each of the mirror motors are circuit breaker protected.

Do you know what DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes are ?
DTC B1023
Circuit/System Description
The driver door switch (DDS) and front passenger door switch (PDS) each contain switches that control power door lock and window functions. The DDS also contains the control switch for the power outside rear view mirrors. These switches are integrated within the door control modules and are not serviceable as separate components. The DDS and PDS monitor these switch inputs for internal faults and set B1023 00 if any are detected.

You could have any number of problems an without testing , hooking up a scanner that can check DTC'S in the door module ,electrical circuit testing etc... we'd only be guessing . Your best bet mite be to take it to a qualified repair shop.

2003 GMC Yukon - My power mirrors stopped working.... all fuses have been checked and they are all good. Any ideas? These are the power folding mirrors. The function that allows you to fold them in for car washes etc still works.... they just will not adjust when you change drivers, or when you try to adjust them with the controls. Any ideas would be appreciated!
