Question about 2001 Ford Expedition

1 Answer

Acceleration is taking to long to happen. Is it the transmission? or timing. Everytime at a stop sign, drive thru .... it sorta goes up and down. When on accelerating to get onto interstate it takes alittle while to get up and go.

My rpm are going up and down while driving.

This sounds normal to me. Why do you think there is a problem? If the RPM's are going up and down during acceleration, then I would say there is some sort of slippage. Have the transmission looked at for signs of trouble. Also, check the transmission fluid level for the correct amount. If it is low, find out why it is leaking. Gasket leak?

Specifically what programmer/tuner do I need to adjust the shift points ??

Sounds like the tv cable is out of adjustment. Take it to a transmission shop and have it adjusted properly. If you don't you can burn up the transmission. The cable controls fluid pressure and shift points.

When taking off from a stop in drive Transmission Slipping

If this is an auto transmission what has happened is the belts in the transmission are worn, by selecting manually first you are using a belt that most of the time does not get used. Drive usually selects the highest ratio which in turn causes smoother take offs. If putting in the Lucas Trans fix did not help it won't be long before the tranny goes completely

So I was driving my Ford Taurus 2002 down the street and out of no where the acceleration just stop. It idles fine, there was no indication the transmission was going out no noise no nothing, it work

Yes, usually do give some sign, but not always. Still it could be an electrical problem, rather than a mechanical faillure, since the shifts are electronically controlled. You probably need a shop or transmission shop to diagnose it.

I was driving on a Highway and suddendly i got a Slow Down sign on my dashboard, why did i get it?

I had this happen last year and again today. It's the transmission dipstick - it's usually on the lancer but if you complain to corporate headquarters about they will correct it. NOW mine has it happen today first time since December. Soo I'll be contacting them Monday and my dealer.

2000 Cougar stalling/lunging fwd. upon acceleration

sounds like your transmission. if the fluid is red or in your case, a really dark red almost brown, then it is your transmission. you might be able to catch it in time to have the leak fixed and save the transmission.
