Question about 2009 Chrysler Town and Country
My 2008 Chrysler Town & Country has started locking its doors all by itself. I'm not talking about when you hit 15mph. It happens when the car is idling, moving on the road or turned off. I have removed the the aftermarket remote starter I had the dealer install so I know it is not the problem. Any ideas?
The power locks are controled by the electronic vehicle information center(EVIC) located inside the
overhead console. From you're description it sounds
like the EVIC is recieving false or intermitent signals,
or there could be a problem with the EVIC itself.
Before going to the dreaded dealer, you can try reprograming the EVIC and turn off the auto lock option. The instructions for this procedure should be
in the owners manual if not you can check out a mitchells or chiltons repair manual at the local library
either of these will have all the info you need to turn
off the auto lock, if you choose to diy.
Hope this helps.
