There is a drain on the bottom of the radiator on the passenger side of the radiator to drain the anti-freeze. Remove the radiator cap and loosen the drain plug on the radiator, spray some WD-40 on the drain valve to help get it loose. Drain the radiator, tighten back up the drain plug and refill, should be 1-11/2 gallons.

I need to know if the transmission from a 1998-2002 pontiac firebird transam will bolt on and work on my 1995 pontiac firebird trans am?

You have to know the motor bell housing bolt pattern

Even if it bolts up, it won't work

1995 is OBD1 & 1996 on is OBD 2

I would never replace one failed trans with another used one,
that won't work,it will just slip or fail & be of no use to you

Pull your trans & take to a trans shop

That is called an over the counter & your get a good price to
rebuild it,maybe even wholesale ,since they don't have to R&R
the trans or diagnose anything

1995 Pontiac TransAm w/5.7 l v-8. Overheats at slow speeds because the elec. fan does not start until the engine temp reaches 220 or more. Could I install a toggle switch w/ a diode in the coolant temp...

I think 220 is the proper temperature for the fan to turn. 220 is too hot and that's why it is turning on but should never have to ideally. What your car likely needs is new coolant and a new thermostat. I recommend a 185* thermostat.

Front defroster blows cold all the time even if the temperture switch is turned to hot

Check coolant level if that does not work culprit is more than likely a bad thermostat. Your car may require dex-cool coolant its pinkish orange not green.
