How would i get the screws out from a 2000 ford expedition starter

The hardest one is the inside one by the block. I had to remove a starter from my 4x4 1999 model. What I had to do is jack the truck up and take off the passengers front tire.

Then you piece together extensions until you are about even with the serpetine belt. You will be able to guide the extension from the fender skirt and run it parallel to the motor mounts. The extensions will be about 36 inches long. You will need to tape or use magnets to get the bolt to stay in the socket to reinstall.

If you do not have 4x4 it should be easier. But all work is done from under the truck. When you drop the starter you can get to the wiring.

I want to replace the starter on my 2000 ford expedition. How do i do that?

Unhook the battery cables, locate the starter, unbolt the wires going to it, remove the bolts holding the starter on, take starter off, reverse the procedure with the new starter.

How do i set up the wires when installing a new starter on my 2000 ford expedition.

first of all disconnect the battery. that way no electric shocks happen

and there is only two wires to the starter. one is held on by a 13mm and the other a 10 or 8mm

one wire is small and the other big. pretty simple setup.

How do i change a starter in a 2000 5.4 expedition

to change the starter, you need to remove it from the bell housing on the transmission, which is attached by 2 or three bolts. Make sure you unplug the battery before you try to remove it. This is what it will look like:

New starter and battery and still won't start

Could be voltage regulator or starter relay has also gone bad. Seems to be fairly common in the Bauer editions.

There are 2 relays or solenoids as they called on a starter, one is on the inside of the fender under the hood, follow the positive battery cable, the other is on the starter, both do the same thing, later years only have the one solenoid on the starter.
