SOURCE: 2001 New Beetle A/C fan noise

I think it is the cabin/ pollen filter. The noise is louder on normal AC operation cos thats when the air is being pulled in through the filter and the sound decreases with recirculate because the filter only functions for outside air.
Need to use a credit card or similar to seperate and move the upper dash centre piece towards windscreen, it clips off. Then open the 3 x torx screws and lift the dash on the passenger side. then remove the plastic cover (oddly shaped) it has about 7 screws, then twist and remove, it requires some real effort, then pollen filter is visible. replace filter and voila! it would make your AC perform like a new car again!!
Hope it helps, Yusuf Johannesburg-South Africa

SOURCE: Vibration noise from cabin ventilation fan

Pull the fan motor and look for debris. Sounds like a balance issue. Test the unit on a bench. If cleaning will not resolve, replace the unit.

I too own a 2007 ford fusion 4cyl.The eengine light came on last week and yesterday noticed the fan runs full speed and the temp gauge stops working...still sound like the eng temp sensor?

You need to have the engine control system scanned for fault codes, any time the CEL comes on a fault code is set in memory for the problem. Autozone and other parts stores do this test for free.

I have a 2003 S-type jaguar that goes into a limp mode and stops running then the engine system fault shows ,the parkbrake fault and DSC not available also shows. Diagnostic showed codes PO121,P1582??

code p 0121 is associated with the throttle position sensor and accelerator position sensor
causes are from cable adjustment --throttle position and accelerator position sensors
code p0533 refers to ac refrigerant pressure sensor--high input== causes --ac pressure too high (cooling fault -condenser fan not running at radiator-- too much gas --pressure sensor
p 0105 refers to map sensor / barometric pressure sensor --circuit malfunction===causes wiring--- map sensor --baro sensor ECM
code p0566 refers to cruise control master switch== causes --control switch , ---ECM
code p1582 refers to electronic throttle monitor data available which will be associated with the p 0121 code and faults

Replaced fan clutch and and the problem is still their. reeves up when you start off. and u can here the fan

This would be normal. As there isn't air flow , then the fan starts turning to get up to speed. The noise is from the fan blades flexing and pulling air threw the radiator. The blades could be a little fatigued. They should have check for cracks when the clutch was replaced. Cracks make the noise worse.

95 Chevy suburban, check engine light will come on

First thing you need to do is get the fault code read. Autozone, etc will read them for free. Once you have a fault code, come back and ask a more specific question with your fault code. We need more information to give better responses. The more specific you are, the better chance of success. Which gears will shift, Which won't, what speeds, etc.

1996 jeep cherokee trouble code 1492

The code for Dodge is for the high speed radiator fan control circuit. I'm not sure it it is the same for Jeep or not.
On some models the fan is two speed or there are two fans, and the code means the computer can not activate the higher speed.

The engine in my automatic '91 Integra intermittently makes a loud squeaking sounds to be coming from the left side of the car under the hood. It is not the fan/fan belt, as the noise...

are you sure its not your fan belts? because if fan belts are not turning, it means that the engine is off. check if the tension in your fan belts are still ok. if not, have it re tensioned. if noise is still present, have it changed.

Super duty fault code p1000

P1000 OBD-II Monitor Testing Incomplete

This is NOT a fault code. It is an indicator code that simply means all the self-tests have not been run yet since the last computer reset.
It's primary practical effect is to keep vehicle owner's from cheating on emissions tests.

That means there are no codes set and there aren’t enough drive cycles yet completed since the last time the codes were cleared. Once enough drive cycles have been completed you will get system passed or a fault code.

Most likely you need to take a drive, 10 minutes at highway speeds and 20 minutes at city speeds, without turning off the engine. Also while driving at city speeds there has to be several periods of stop and go.

Running hot at higher speeds.(6 cyl) Does not have a full shroud around radiator. Does it require one?

The shroud around the radiator fan mainly assists cooling at lower road speeds - it increases the efficiency of the cooling fan/s.
At higher road speeds the increased airflow due to vehicle speed makes the fan and shroud less important in that circumstance.

Running hot at higher roadspeeds can be caused by either engine mechanical fault (blown headgasket etc) or defective cooling system:-
Check for combustion gas bubbles in coolant reservoir - and ensure engine has no other mechanical running problems.

Check cooling system as follows:-
1) Faulty thermostat,
2) Blocked radiator air flow due obstruction such as grasshoppers or other insects,
3) Blocked radiator core (internal) by sludge/scale etc.
4) Collapsing radiator hose on intake side of waterpump (due to softened hose),
5) Cooling system not properly filled with coolant due air locks in the system - bleed off any air (as manufacturer specifies) during re-fill with coolant and ensure flow to heater core is enabled.

Fault code P1000 [18,2,10,0],Ford Fiesta 2005

P1000 means that you or someone has disconnected the battery, and the car has not been driven far / long enough for the computer to relearn its stratagies.
Engine light could be the fault of the speed sensor, or wiring to the sensor.
