Leak from 2001 Ford ranger Water Intake Manifold - There is an aluminum part coming out of the manifold on top of the engine that is leaking. It is not on the rubber hose but on the metal part that connects from the hose to the manifold. Is this actually connected to the manifold or a piece that is threaded and can be simply replaced?

The piece you are describing sounds like the thermostat housing. These housings are normally bolted to the manifold, so you can simply unbolt it. If it is cracked, you will need to replace it. If it is not, you can replace the gasket underneath it and reinstall it.

87 ford ranger coolant leak not from water pump replaced it today appears to be coming from right behind it

I can give you a couple of possible causes(1)freeze plugs in the block, there round & look like drink coasters, but are brass(2)intake manifold gasket can be leaking from the corners where water jackets are/also the head gasket both are on all four corners,I don't know what motor you have, but there are pipes that are called crossovers that run from the back off the timing cover to the heater core on the fire wall, sometimes on top of the manifold on one side & there will be a hose connected to it possible bad hose or corroded tube?

Crown victoria overheating

Sounds like a cracked intake manifold crossover tube. Very common on the 4.6 liter. The new intake has been updated with an aluminum crossover.

Engine light is on 2001 ranger vacumn hose leak?

This may be you fuel cap. If that doesn't fix it check all vacuum lines around intake manifold and replace anything cracked or leaking. I would check fuel cap first.

buy a can of carb cleaner with the little red nossle
start the truck and take the can of carb cleaner and spray small amounts around the intake don't forget to also do the vaccum lines if you have a leak the engine will rev up ( thoes trucks with the 4.0 was good for doing that

2001 Ford Focus SES EVAC Leak and Periodic Wiper Problem

Check the hose that comes out of the intake manifold to the pipe that goes to the PCV valve. It gets soft, leaks and will collapse. It has a clamp on it at the manifold be careful as the manifold is plastic. Check while it is running. Common problem.

My 2002 Ford Ranger starts fine just replaced the battery. After it starts it will rev up to 1800 then back down to 200. It will do this maybe 3 time before it dies. i can hold the pedel down to keep it...

probably have a vacuum leak where the Upper Ram of the Intake manifold meet the Lower Intake Manifold. Listen for a vacuum leak (hissing sound) near that point, We used to spray a small amount of Carb cleaner near the joint of the 2 Manifolds & observe for a change in the Engine speed, to verify the vacuum leak.
