Question about 1996 Chevrolet Cavalier
I think you have got a bigger problem than you realize - a blown head gasket. Overheating the engine will weaken the gasket. It may be a small leak, but it will be enough to rob the engine of compression and power, making it difficult to start. You need to do a compression test on all 4 cylinders. If one of the readings is way off from the others, you know that you have found the problem. The repair for this is quite involved, so think hard about whether you want to do it yourself.
